Repeated intro
Hello Electioneers,
What changed
- Events
- Maps
We have a few updates we just pushed live that we mentioned a few days ago.
A new DataBank feature that will let you learn more about how to play the game, and it also provides supplementary information on the different real-world events going on during the game time. We'll continue to build out the content for this and add some guides to it.
New turns will begin with a "Newsletter" rather than the pop out from the phone in the bottom right. We want to give you more space to explore the things happening each turn. We've moved all the events over to the Newsletter. We also added a "Your News" section, which is focused on procedurally generating news to correspond with how your in-game actions are affecting things. Right now, this is pretty basic, but we'll be pushing updates to it in the next week, or so that'll hopefully feel more immersive. Also, we've built out a "News Ticker" that lives at the bottom of the screen so you can see the events scrolling by.
A nicer ending to the game. We have some end game animations we're putting together, and also you'll be able to explore the map once the game is finished if you want to mine around for more information :) As a strategy and specifically political game junkie myself, when the game is over, I want to absorb all that information and really dig into what happened, so we'll try to give you players that experience.
Some small bug fixes. A small patch for our mac players. Some of you may have had a disproportionately large mouse cursor! If you were affected by this, hopefully, it'll be normal-sized now. If you restart the game from within a current game, the proper menu music now plays.
We'll continue to work on the next update. Candidates for that update are.
- Getting the infiltrator into the game. We already have his dialogue and actions. We're just trying to work on some balancing.
- Phishing sites so you can target the candidate's income!
- Better procedural content for "Your News"
Our goal is to get that content out before the end of the year.
Best,
Jordan
