changedMine EnvironmentLast update we showed you the top of our mountains - we’ve now moved deeper and find ourselves in an old and abandoned mine. This is our third environment, which you will see towards the end of our game where the eldritch influence has spread deep and far. As such things can go really wonky down here! As this is the first iteration, in the future we will refine and polish all the sprites, and think of what strange creatures you might meet down here.
addedOld new facesYou’ve seen the people living in the village before, but now we want to show off how their looks might change as the story progresses. Everyone has their own obsessions and idiosyncrasies which makes the eldritch influence manifest in different ways. Some are so focused on their work they might not know where they end and their work begins, others find new… friends, and some can find new life where there was none before. What do you think caused their transformations? We’d love to know your theories!
addedVillage StoryIn tandem with the portraits above, we’ve also been working on the story of the village itself. It’s a quaint little life up in the mountains and nothing much disturbs the peace apart from the occasional tourists. The people living here have been here all their life and new things can be very unsettling. We are working on how relationships will change and how everyone deals with the uncertainty of what’s happening. We hope to be able to convey a feeling of familiarity in the beginning, so it will be all the more impactful when the villagers turn against each other - or even against you!

We’ll be back next month to show you that not only the villagers will be visually affected by the eldritch, but the whole environment itself!
