addedIt’s time to talk about our new mechanics!! In this update we’ll show you how to communicate with the creatures and all the diagnostic tools as well ✨Let’s get into it~
changedBreathing life into the villageThere’s a lot to do in a small community, so we put the villagers to work! You can see Livia do the washing, Margarethe knitting for the coming winter months and Heinrich is… well he’s fishing of course! We’ve built up quite a sophisticated system for loading in different constellations of village activities, some random and some depending on where you are in the bigger narrative. Thousands of if-statements are sophisticated, right? Right? (Kidding, kidding. There are like 3, tops. We swear.)
addedNew Diagnosis ToolsWe showed you some of our combat UI overhaul in the last few updates, so now it’s time to reveal some new tools we’ve been working on. These tools are inspired by the esoteric sciences of the Belle Epoque - a time period in Europe beginning in the late 19th century, which is famous for its many (and we mean many ) inventions. We got a crystal that captures the creatures’ essence, a resonator to locate aura hotspots, and a plasma zappy doo-dad to get the monsters to slow down a bit. Don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt them! … If you care about that, of course. 👀
changedThe new Symbol Creation MechanicWe’ve shown you a small glimpse of our new symbol mechanic a while back and today we want to show you exactly how it works! It’s actually quite simple, although it might look like a lot at a first glance: You take one of the three “base” symbols and manipulate them with the symbol tools - the X-Ray shows you how the symbol affects the creature (or to use gameplay terms: how you move along the map). Your goal is to either destroy as much tissue as you can or move towards the emotion you previously diagnosed. Easy!- if there wasn’t this pesky time pressure ;)

Additionally, you will be able to recreate symbols you have in your book to unlock special paths on the X-Ray or activate a power but we’ll get to that another time!
