What should happen when you lose a battle?

Hi! I started a new player poll about an important gameplay question: what should happen after you lose a battle?

Right now, if you lose, you go back to the planet map, but lost weapons stay lost.

I am also thinking about another option: after defeat, restore your state from before the fight (like an auto-save).
