Blog

It's been one week since we release Eclectic Expansion Enterprise, and it's been a ride. As a solo dev, it's been great to see people engaging with and enjoying something I've created. This is just the beginning, and there's plenty planned for the road ahead!

That being said, this was my first time releasing to multiple platforms at the same time, and switching between the WebGL and PC build caused some unexpected issues. I think I've dealt with a large number of those bugs, so this build should be much more stable. Keep those bug reports coming though, I want to make sure there's as few bugs in the game as possible.

Now, on to the main show:

New Features

  • Added an offline progression mechanic

  • Added cost scaling to all buildings

  • Buildings now have a hollow image when turned off

  • Added a tech node to unlock the Field Station

  • Added a tech node to for Volatiles Processor self-replication

  • Added a large number of new tech nodes

  • Added a new setting menu for changing resolution and window setting

  • Added a new setting menu to control animation speed

Changes

  • Halved cost of most Matter Extractor and Solar Collector techs

  • Changed the dataliths per income to instead use number of buildings(no need to turn off things before Ascent anymore!)

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed Matter Extractor and Solar Collector not self-replicating properly

  • Fixed Landing Ship charge and cooldown increments being 0

  • Fixed Solar Collector Optimization Mk II not saving properly

  • Fixed Survey Hub not reducing it's volatiles expenditure when at max explore range

  • Fixed buildings not powering off properly from the building details menu

  • Fixed an ordering issue causing survey hubs to create extra tiles on load (if loading a map that has survey hubs on it, some buildings might shift around. New sites and future saves will not have this issue)

  • A variety of other tweaks and issues that are too small or too interconnected to mention here
