changedSo... what's cooking?Let's talk a bit about Laurel's prologue. Similar to Liam's Prologue, we will play as other character hours before the main events of the game happens, in this case we will play as Marcus, who was minding his own business in the alleys of Alba City when Wulfy decided to chase a shadow and go missing. Marcus goes after him like Alice chased the White Rabbit without realizing the dangers and horrible discovery he was about to find...
addedLaurel's Campaign point of viewSince Laurel's Campaign takes place hours before Liam's arrival to the City, there will be some interesting differences in the environments that would lead to new areas or actions that will affect Liam's Campaign later on.
addedCharacter Differences:To make each character feel and play even more unique, we are adding some passive combat abilities to each character.
changedHandgun ReloadLiam can perform a tactical reload while Laurel's lack of field combat skills makes her reloading take longer, in exchange, Laurel's Handgun can hold 15 bullets instead of 7 and fire slightly faster:
changedShotgun ReloadLiam's weapons training is focused into Handguns and Rifles so reloading a Shotgun takes more time while Laurel's Police Skills allows her to perform a much faster reload.

Oh boy! What a suffocating summer we are having here! Allow us to bring some"fresh"and"cool"news to make the wait a bit more bearable:

As the development of Laurel's Campaign evolves, I realize that the size of it is comparable to an "Echoes Of The Living 2" and it's getting harder and harder to show content without spoiling all the cool features and locations.

So... what's cooking?

Let's talk a bit about Laurel's prologue.

Let's take a little sneak peak:

Laurel's Campaign point of view

Since Laurel's Campaign takes place hours before Liam's arrival to the City, there will be some interesting differences in the environments that would lead to new areas or actions that will affect Liam's Campaign later on.

Laurel's Campaign will also feature a lot of unique and expanded areas:

We will be showing more areas in future updates! Let's not spoil all the fun today!

Character Differences:

To make each character feel and play even more unique, we are adding some passive combat abilities to each character.

Handgun Reload

  • Liam can perform a tactical reload while Laurel's lack of field combat skills makes her reloading take longer, in exchange, Laurel's Handgun can hold 15 bullets instead of 7 and fire slightly faster:

Shotgun Reload

  • Liam's weapons training is focused into Handguns and Rifles so reloading a Shotgun takes more time while Laurel's Police Skills allows her to perform a much faster reload.

This is a good time to show the new Pump Shotgun Animations!:

Speaking of Shotgun Animations, I made new animations for the Auto. Shotgun that finally added the sweet spot and makes the weapon way much funnier to use!:

Rifles Reload

  • Liam will now perform a tactical reload! Comparision with Laurel:

Inventory

Let's take a closer look at Laurel's Inventory:

"Whoa, whoa, whoa... those gunpowders are new!"

Yes!, two new types of Gunpowder will be added for both characters!:

  • Light Gunpowder:

This bottle of Gunpowder allows the player to craft "Heavy Gunpowder" by Mixing 2x "Light Gunpowders" or craft "SMG Bullets" by Mixing Regular "Gunpowder" and "Light Gunpowder".

  • Smokeless Powder:

This unique item will allow the player to craft "Rifle Bullets" by Mixing "Smokeless Powder" and "Refined Gunpowder" or craft "Explosive Gunpowder" by Mixing 2x "Smokeless Powder".

Now we are talking about the Inventory, allow me to share this QOL Improvement that will make playing with Gamepad way more stress free:

Now items will not reset when picking them from the Storage Box (I'm still working on a sorting system, don't worry).

And last but not least! Depending on the Difficulty Mode you are playing on, when your HP reaches a certain number and if you are affected by a health condition, some of the enemies can perform an Insta Kill attack, so watch out!

There is still a LOT of work to do yet and even if the summer is not making things any easier for us we want to thank you so much for your patience and being part of the Development of Echoes Of The Living.

See you in the next update!

Best regards, MoonGlint Studio (Alvaro and Laura).
