We have big news for y'all concerning something you were asking about all the time (like, daily).

We could tell you more about our struggles to fight off the accidentally summoned demon in our office for the past couple of weeks, but I personally think we should let past mistakes behind and not blame [REDACTED] or anyone else for it.

So anyway, let's talk about the DEMO!

First things first (and I know that this is an obvious reminder, but still), please keep in mind this demo is a work in progress!

That can mean:

  • Bugs
  • Unpolished features
  • Lacking dialog

With that said, as of this moment, this demo is the exact same one we playtested over on Gamescom Latam, so unless our competition pulled our rug without us knowing, it should be very stable!

Now, as for what you CAN expect from this demo:

But that's not all!

We've been tirelessly (and I mean that) working on the amazing feedback we received during the event, so while this demo is the same our players loved trying out at our booth, we know it has a lot of room for improvement!

So here's what you can expect to see in the following weeks / months (just remember time flows differently for us unpaid undead):

Updated Character Selection

At the moment, we know it can be quite confusing to change characters and starting a run, so improving that has been our top priority for the past couple of weeks!

Good news is this new screen is already fully implemented in-engine! This means you'll be seeing this screen by the next time we update the demo with more content (which shouldn't take long)!

Updated Boon Selection Screen

Our team is currently finishing the implementation of this amazing visual update to our boon selection. Boons will have different border styles to help you quickly notice the difference between passive boons and active boons (weapons and spells).

We also heavily reworked boons to make sure their rarity is in fact obvious this time around. And if it isn't, let us know so we can make fun of you and we'll figure something out.

Map Selection and a New Stage

Although these two are just mockups that Rogue stole from our R&D department so I could use in this post, we are also working on a stage selection system, which would be displayed as soon as you choose the character you wish to play as, sort of a follow up to our Character Selection screen.

Unfortunately we were only able to get our hands on screenshots for these, so more details and updates on these two will have to wait a bit longer.

Shooting Enemies

We still haven't figured out who is training those villagers to use a bow, but I swear he will pay when we do.

Anyway, seems they didn't know how to shoot properly by the time this build was developed, so it should still take some time for you to meet them. Hopefully not too soon, 'cause I swear they're just there to make my job harder.

Rogue told me there's still some stuff he noticed over at R&D's room, but he was almost caught and couldn't retrieve it for today's post. But I have a feeling he'll keep trying, so stay tuned!
