Repeated intro
Greetings, Innkeepers!
What changed
- Gameplay
- Events
- Balance
- Performance
This past week, we’ve been focusing on the foundation of Dungeon Inn: balancing the inn’s status values. Money, reputation, suspicion, and abilities have all been reworked to connect more meaningfully with each other. Reputation and ability levels in particular have been improved, and a new reputation bonus system is now in place.
We’ve also expanded the “Happenings” (minor events) with richer content and better rewards, plus new options to actively exchange suspicion and money depending on your playstyle. Adventurer battles are also being adjusted so that choices feel more intuitive and allow for more proactive influence over the outcome. Even the inn preparation process has been given a rethink!
Why focus on this now?
Players often told us that Dungeon Inn’s six core values—money, reputation, suspicion, and three ability levels—felt too separate. We agreed. Now that our content direction is clear, we’re weaving these systems together so that every stat has a bigger impact on gameplay. It’s a lot of work (since each change affects balance across both Story Mode and Endless Mode), but we believe this is the perfect time to do it. Our goal is to have the overhaul ready next month, alongside the revamped Endless Mode update.
What’s next?
Our next step is to redefine facility tile Tiers and make each tile more distinctive. We want their individual traits—and the trade-off between price and performance—to be clearer, so picking a facility feels like a strategic decision rather than a simple upgrade. These improvements, along with the event system changes, should create greater synergy with the status rework.
It’s a lot to polish, but we’re excited to share the results soon. For now, autumn has arrived, and the cool breeze has been keeping us refreshed whenever development gets tough. 🍂 Oh—and Dungeon Inn will also be exhibited at an offline comic convention in China, which we’re thrilled about!
As usual, if you have any suggestions or bugs, we would be delighted to hear from you through this Google form.
