v0.4.16 Patch Notes — Sound Overhaul & Balance
Sound System Overhaul
74 SFX fully replaced with professionally engineered game audio
14 new status effect sounds added (burn, freeze, bleed, stealth, etc.)
Volume normalized to -14 LUFS across all sound effects
New Features
Victory Roadmap Tips — On-screen progress guide showing your path to victory in 4 stages
Overlord XP Rework — XP calculation now based on run records (best wave, play time)
Balance Adjustments
Enemy Difficulty Increase — Enemy stat growth per level increased by 1.5x, spawn intervals decrease over time
Edict System Rework — Construction edict now gates turrets only; wall/turret upgrade edict refined
Bug Fixes
Status effect formula corrections based on design specs
Effect cleanup and array iteration bugs fixed
Steam achievement tracking reliability improved
Save system encryption and crash handler stabilized
Monster attack particle sizes reduced by 50%
Performance
Camera dirty check — tile rendering skipped when camera is stationary (0ms vs 2.5ms)
UI Changes
Barricade removed from construction menu
Terminology unified across all 14 languages
