Dungeon Bodega Simulator changes
Howdy Ya'll!
Moss here with a few QoL updates for the demo! Wanted to thank everyone for an amazing Next Fest! We just nearly 1k wishlists during the event which is huge!! Over 500 people played the game which really blew me away. Watching a few streamers play my little project was very encouraging, and I'm coming off of last week's break refreshed and creatively excited!
For the demo update, I took care of a host of small issues folks caught during Next Fest. Still feel free to submit the bug report form for feedback or use out Steam discussions forums for bigger feedback :D
Customers will no longer demand more than 1 potion unless its a specific event
The "Potion" item was renamed "Sparkling Juice" to clarify its a separate item
Item hold point was moved further from the player to make it easier to move items around
Particle effects for placing items on shelves was enabled when using the sack
Letters only spawn once to prevent confusion
TP got a new collider to prevent excessive physics noise
Escape key now gets you out of menus as you'd expect
Skip Customer button hover text updated to be more clear when completing a partial order
Farm instructions diagram updated for clarity, need to re-do this later though
Cheese no longer floats when you place it on a shelf
Default dialog size from 18pt -> 24pt for easier readability off the bat
Hopefully these tweaks will make the demo more enjoyable to anyone coming back to it or doing it for the first time!
Steam post image May have snuck in a test quest to the demo :)
As for a roadmap, the goal timeline is to implement the rest of our core features by mid-November 2025. We'll evaluate there whether we are on track to launch in December. If I'm not feeling confident, we'll move to either Early Access or a Steam Playtest. So no matter what happens, ya'll are getting more content in December no matter what. Ideally I'll do some more dev videos on YT and TikTok to keep ya'll updated.
Some of the features I am planning on working on:
Customer special orders & quests
More dungeon puzzles and mystery
Unique NPCs with dialog
More slimes, and fleshed out slime systems
Way more crops with unique growth stages
More potions and potion combos
Interaction re-design for more intuitive controls
Controller support
Proper saving and loading
Weapon smithing and batch potion brewing
and more!
Alright, thanks for reading through the walls of text, but I am very excited to share this all with ya'll in a few months!
Sincerely,
moss
