Dungeon Bodega Simulator changes
Howdy Ya'll!
Moss here with the exciting announcement that I'll be able to release a demo update this week! After working on a solid bit of full-game content including the new plants, new blacksmithing mini-games, and new slimes and potions I was able to set aside some time to refocus on some updates I'd be able to bring to the demo!
The big highlights for this demo update:
- SavingYou can now save your progress, this will definitely see some updates as there are probably some bugs that will need to be addressed. Note that your save will probably not transfer to the main game, unless the save system doesn't change much between now and then.
- UpgradesRepurposed part of the dungeon to host the upgrades tree in a physical space! You'll also get to see a bit of what will be available in the full game here
Slime Friendship: The slime system has been overhauled and is now focused on interacting with your slimes! You can still occasionally get potions from them, but they hopefully fill their own niche now
- New User InterfaceI've added a "journal" to the game that has info about mechanics, and is the new home for your shop supplies area. Feedback on this area is super useful!
New NPC models! Shoutout to Wade Kenney who is our model artist for a few of the new NPCs. You can see all of them on day 7, with a few select ones showing up in the existing demo days.
Managed a lot of other small fixes, and theres a lot of other smaller tweaks to come as I work on things. On the full game side of things, here's some things I've been working on!
All full game slimes, potions, and crops are implemented into the game:
The smithing minigames along with the 8 craftable weapons are also prototyped!
Behind the scenes, I've been trying to organize things to get this game ready for ya'll as soon as possible. It is looking like I'll need more time, with hopefully February being our full release window. I promised to have the game for ya'll in December though, so I'm excited to announce we'll be launching a full Steam Playtest!
Probably around the turn of the new year, the game in as playable of a state as I can make it, will be available to playtest. That'll give me a few months to work on narrative, polish, more decor items, and adding feature requests from the community.
I appreciate ya'lls patience and support! I really hope you enjoy the new demo, and please let me know when you run into bugs especially with the save system.
Sincerely,
moss
