Duels of Fortune changes
This will be a fairly short one, as we're now at the point where we have to keep most of our upcoming content a secret, but we wanted to use this time to give you all an idea of what our plans look like for the remainder of 2026. We'll also be sharing an extremely cool announcement courtesy of our most recent collaboration!
Let's get right into it, starting with the aforementioned announcement!
A Duels of Fortune Tournament: Chizuru's Dynamite Duel!!
ChairGTables, the developer of Super Ledgehop: Double Laser (our most recent crossover), is hosting an online Duels of Fortune tournament that will take place on Saturday, July 25th at 4pm EST / 9pm UTC!
The tournament features an over $100 prize pool, and an extra-special prize for the winner: a custom, one-of-a-kind DUELS OF FORTUNE X SUPER LEDGEHOP FIGHT STICK from Breakfast Garage, with artwork by Duels of Fortune developer PluckyStar! (That's me!)
[Please note that only participants in the North America region will be able to receive the fight stick]
Click here to sign up for the bracket! You also MUST be in the Duels of Fortune Discord to participate!
Additionally, you can go to the Matcherino to view more info and contribute to the prize pool. Info can also be found in the tournament's dedicated channel in the Discord server. The tournament will be streamed on ChairGTables' Twitch channel if you wish to spectate!
This tournament will be played through dedicated Parsec servers hosted by ChairGTables themselves, so you won't need to worry about mismatched input delay giving one player an unfair advantage.
If you wanna win yourself some cash and potentially the special fight stick, then sign up and get grinding! We're super excited to see how this tourney turns out. Massive thank-you to ChairGTables for organizing this event and setting everything up! Show them some love!
The Next Fighter
With Chizuru fully released, we're already gearing up for our 4th-to-last playable fighter, an original fighter codenamed "Chain", who we've now set to release in September!
We're happy to say that the character is actually quite far along in development already! If we were just releasing the character by themselves, they'd likely be out much sooner, but we want to take that extra time to work on balance updates, polish up some more neglected parts of the game, and prepare for the future. Plus, we of course want to give Chizuru the breathing room she deserves, so we can't have the next fighter be too soon!
It's worth noting that, since we are aiming to shift our focus more and more towards Story Mode as the year goes on, "Chain" will very likely end up being the last fighter of 2026. With any luck though, that gap will be worth it! Speaking of which...
Story Mode Progress
Rest assured, we are still dead-set on getting at least the first chapter of Story Mode released by the end of the year, and we feel we're very much on track to do so! The short "prologue" chapter is already nearing completion, and it won't be long before we're blocking out Chapter 1 proper!
Better yet, we've got some early screenshots from the prologue to give you a teaser of what's to come! Take a look!
As you can see, things are coming along well! A couple of extra stages still need to exist before Chapter 1 can be made in full though, so definitely expect to see more stages in the near future!
That's All For Now!
Thank you for reading our latest status update! Hopefully this has given you all lots to look forward to for the back half of 2026! I know we're quite excited ourselves!
...And of course, we hope to see lots of you at the upcoming Chizuru's Dynamite Duel! We can't wait to see just how much better you all are at our own game than we are! 😆
Take care, and we'll see you all next time!
