Ducks Can Drive changes
v2.00 is finally here, with the main highlight being the completely new, revamped driving system where it feels like the duck can now actually drive! This is not the only change in this update, as it comes with a variety of bugfixes and cool little things added to make the game feel more whole.
Thank you to everyone who has suggested ideas for the game as this helps a lot with deciding on what to develop next to make the game better.
Patch notes:
Vastly overhauled the driving system and mechanics (the duck can actually drive)
Added smoke and trail effects to the wheels
Fixed a bug where you would not be set to the correct position on the start of a room or race (Hopefully)
The duck now visibly delivers bread to the other ducks
Ramps and curbs are now far easier and more fun to drive across
Added 3 music tracks to the 3 tracks
Added new sound effects for deliveries, checkpoints, laps, race completions and round starts
Slightly lowered the brightness of the game
Players will now have nameplates above their car
Volume settings for music and SFX are now avaliable in settings
The checkpoints are now yellow
You can now collide with trees
Due to the new driving overhaul, the time trial achievement times have been changed, with 35 seconds on Duck Circuit, 40 seconds on Lake Loop and 45 seconds on Quack Crossing
Significantly increased the compass range
The reset button is now UI and is more benefical as it will reset you to your spawn point rather than just reset your rotation
Players will be alerted when a player finishes a race
Improved performance
There may be one more update this week, with features like a dark mode and full controller and wheel support. After that I will have a week break from updating the game, but hopefully you continue to enjoy Ducks Can Drive! Joey
