Drill Core changes
Greetings, Platform Managers!
The RânâD Department has been hard at work on several new initiatives to enable Platform Managers to profit for the Board of Directors like never before!
Introducing The Machine World DLC.
Invest in your future as a Platform Manager with a journey to the Tech Biome, where youâll discover a new boss, new blocks, a new core, and a couple more things that the RânâD Department refuse to disclose despite numerous threats. Shall we take a closer look?
New Aliens
As part of Drill Core Inc.âs continued dedication to biodiversity, several members of the RânâD Department were sent to âresearchâ the new species of aliens that are present in this new biome; from the ones that made it back, there have been several new insights into what Platform Managers may face on these planets.
These new species include the Holoformer, which creates illusions to protect itself from damage; the Teleporter, which as the name suggests can teleport itself and nearby units closer to the Core; the Overclocker, which moves faster the more damage it takes; and the Repair Drone, which will repair friendly units when able.
Please note that several of the units mentioned above have the ability to teleport once their health gets to a dangerous level, which could lead to a frenzy if not managed properly. Consider this during your operations, as there will be no compensation for frivolous death.
The traumatised recovering scouts were also able to share that one Alien appears larger than the others; The Overseer, who appears to be the ultimate defender of Tech Biome planets. With both the ability to teleport and to spawn some of its own minions, youâll need to be diligent around this enemy.
New Blocks

Naturally, this entirely new biome is also home to several new types of Block to mine, each with their own properties and potential effects.
The Wires Block periodically connects to other Blocks within range and increases their durability; the EMP Block shocks a number of surrounding tiles when destroyed, damaging them; the Short-Circuit Block periodically stuns creatures within its range; and the Hologram Block, which hides nearby Blocks within its range until destroyed.
Of course, this is far from the full range of new Blocks to be discovered, but the RânâD Department will continue updating the control console, which all Platform Managers can access by pressing the âctrlâ button during operations and hovering over the relevant Block.
New Events
The RânâD Department has also observed several strange new phenomena on Tech planets which may alter strategies for any diligent Platform Manager.
Some of these Events include Restoration System, where Drones will create new Blocks in the mine during the day; Spontaneous Teleportation, during which Blocks and Workers will be teleported throughout the day; and System Malfunction, within which building and turret prices are doubled until the end of the day.
Please note that these events are considered ânatural disastersâ and as such are not eligible for compensation or company healthcare.
This is far from the full range of new discoveries found within the Tech Biome; youâll also discover new buildings, a new Core, and new Turrets. To be best prepared for these developments, we strongly encourage all Platform Managers to head to the dedicated DLC page below to learn more.
This optional upgrade, The Machine World DLC, will be available from April 28, alongside a free update; weâll have more to share with you regarding that soon.
