fixedFirst of all, I want to apologize for the long delay in this update. As some of you know, I ran into serious PC issues—two of them, actually. One got fried, and I lost about a year of progress. Then my HDD died for no apparent reason, and I lost another 6–7 months of work. That really killed my motivation for a while. On top of that, I had a job that required me to work around 10 hours a day for four years. After coming home from work, the last thing I wanted to do was sit at my PC again. Because of that, development slowed down significantly. That said, I never stopped working on the game completely. I’ve mentioned before how I sometimes worked on it: for example, while playing games like SMITE or PUBG—anything with downtime. In PUBG, I’d queue for a match, alt-tab and work on the game until just before landing, play the match, die, then alt-tab back and continue working. Bit by bit, in these small windows of time, I managed to implement new mechanics, fix bugs, and add new content. I decided to release an update now because it’s been about a year since the last one, and I want to show everyone who’s interested that the game isn’t dead. I just don’t have the financial incentive to work on it full-time—it’s a passion project, a game I’ve wanted to create since I was a kid in the ’90s. To keep things simple, here are some of the recent changes and additions. Please note that the Etrereburgh City Kingdom is open, with NPCs, quests, and events available. However, most of the houses are not fully populated yet—there are interiors and some details, but many buildings don’t have loot or NPCs at the moment. Expanding and filling out the city will be a focus for the next update. Right now, I’m working on a long and complex questline with multiple outcomes. It’s taking time because each step and every player decision needs to properly affect the game world in meaningful ways. Added: -Added Lore Book. This makes player interacting some book shelfs give a random lore that you can always read from Lore Book in the inventory. They are randomized. Notes, Letters, etc will also be shown there in case you want to read it, connect stories or find a hint for a quest. -Added Delivery system. Now you can go and plan route from place to place and earn money, items, weapons or armors! -Added history. Now you can access your history whatever you interacted with. Want to see text from 5 days ago because you didn't play and forgot what you did? Now you can! Forgot something? Now you remember! Also can reset history to make less searching around if you wish. -Added auctions so player can bid for a bit cheaper items, weapons and armors in Bagash City -Added dynamic economy. Now shops have their own stock limit. For example 25. The less the stock is the more expensive that item becomes. Example: you go town A HP pot cost 7s50c you buy 10 it costs 75s, but now when you want to buy more (since you reduced stock by 10) the price of it is more expensive. 1 HP pot costs 10s each and so on. They increase overtime or when you sell it. You can be a merchant and farm money if you play your cards right. You can see any shortage happening on the bulletin board. Locations further away from big hubs like cities have prices increase while city as a trade hub will have normal prices unless shortage. -Added faction system (rudimentary for now). When doing quests or events it will reduce or increase the reputation with the faction. It goes from -100 to 100. -100-76 "Hated" -75-51 "Hostile" -50-26 "Unfriendly" -25-25 "Neutral" 26-50 "Friendly" 51-75 "Honored" 76-100 "Exalted" When it's more fleshed out prices will go down or free fast travel if reputation goes to Exalted. If it goes to Hostile it will be no shops or quests, Hated will attack you, Unfriendly will increase prices and travel will be forbidden. Reputation will decrease over time. Removed/Fixed: -Fixed party member that don't spawn after wining the Brawlers Guild Arena -Fixed the maid that prevents moving in Fools Hope -Fixed Prison Warden to be above chair instead under it -Fixed Cultist receiving wrong staff/ring at start. Will take some time to change all -Started replacing default battlers to custom ones, this will take time -Removed internal Achievements (will see to make steam achivs work).
