changedDog petting was hold button to pet forever which it still is but we saw that most players were just hitting the Pet button so decided to make the default pet duration from 1 second to 3 seconds . You can still HOLD pet button to pet indefinitely if that's your thing. Why shouldn't be your thing, Machan the dog is adorable!
addedWhy don't we just had a Hold to Pet text instead? You are sharp, that is a great question. It's because we didn't implement it that way and sometimes in gamedev (ok most times) we do things a certain way and it's too late to change it in case we break something else which happens more often then not. Also, not much space and then we'd have to add a feature for the text to hide while petting cause the text would cover the dog WHICH is the focus of the whole petting thing in the first place. So there!
addedAachi's got a harpoon , I mean she talks about it enough we thought we should probably add one on her so we did.
addedAdded an Uncle Hinti about Tooltips during battle . We remind you a couple of times during the demo. The HOLD button to Tooltips gives you not only health info but status effects, buffs, debuffs, it's kind of useful if you're into that kind of thing in an turn-based combat RPG so you can plan your next set of moves.
addedAdded Lock icon to indicate that story progression is required for certain Village Status levels. You'll be revisiting this and other villages so don't stress too much about doing all the things now, cause you can't. It's fine, you'll be able to later, we promise.
addedAdded a reminder that Game Difficulty can be changed anytime from the Options > Gameplay menu

Also, not much space and then we'd have to add a feature for the text to hide while petting cause the text would cover the dog WHICH is the focus of the whole petting thing in the first place. So there!

  • Aachi's got a harpoon, I mean she talks about it enough we thought we should probably add one on her so we did.

  • Added an Uncle Hinti about Tooltips during battle. We remind you a couple of times during the demo. The HOLD button to Tooltips gives you not only health info but status effects, buffs, debuffs, it's kind of useful if you're into that kind of thing in an turn-based combat RPG so you can plan your next set of moves.

  • Added Lock icon to indicate that story progression is required for certain Village Status levels. You'll be revisiting this and other villages so don't stress too much about doing all the things now, cause you can't. It's fine, you'll be able to later, we promise.

  • Added a reminder that Game Difficulty can be changed anytime from the Options > Gameplay menu

  • Added more controller rumble to battles most notably to when enemies get Stuffed!

  • Decluttered some of the map icons. There's a lot and even though we added filters, players want to just glance at the map and get a sense for where things are so we want to make sure the common use case is handled.

  • Fixed an issue on respawn timers for plants and ingredients in the world. This is one of those dreaded sometimes bug that only happens sometimes on the Steam build. Gamedevs hate the sometimes bug, it's the worst because you can't predictably reproduce it with steps so it happens all the time so we can fix it. All the time bugs are our favorite kind of bugs to fix. Well no bugs at all are our favorite but when you make games with complex systems that can overlap there's bound to be some bugs on someone's machine.

  • Fixed an issue with the intro cutscene not handing off control to the player. This was a weird one but we think we got it. The mech jumping down cutscene has a give control to player that happens over a number of frames at the end of the cutscene but depending on the player's machine, performance, random luck, it could skip those frames and be stuck for AWHILE! Like too long where you'd think the game froze but eventually recovered. Anyways, not a great experience but this is one of those SOMETIMES bugs that doesn't happen to all players. Did we mention sometimes bugs are our least favorite? No? Read the previous paragraph.

  • Fixed a tutorial set of images being blocked by other images. This is embarrasing. Somehow things got out of order so the SKILLS tutorial had just a purple box. There's nothing wrong with a purple box but we'd prefer to show you something more meaningful during the tutorial. If you miss the purple box, please let us know and we'll take it under consideration.

  • Fixed the selector turning on too early during Level UP screen before it was ready. It felt bad where you could see the preview of point allotment but you couldn't actually do anything about it. So now the selector doesn't turn on until you can select and make a choice. The delay is there on purpose because earlier on we had players that would accidentally click through without realizing they were making a selection.

  • Adjusted the camera hint when you meet Merchant Kabi for the first time in a long time and Samara says "Oh no" like she REALLY doesn't want to see him in front of her sister. She doesn't want to have to explain to Amani that she's seen Kabi someone recently. Anyways the hint is there for you the player so you walk over to Kabi to get ingredients you might need for cooking.

  • Fixed an issue with Kabi's store UI not opening if you were standing in front of him after talking to him which does happen 100% of the time and those ALWAYS bugs we love so much to fix. It's fixed. Yay!

  • Suppressed flyout reward list while map is open. This was getting in the way while looking at the map so now it doesn't. Yay.

  • Adjustments to menus to work better in different aspect ratios from ultra wide to 16:9 to 16:10 etc.

  • A bunch of spelling fixes and some label adjustments

  • Fixed some text overflowing in dialogue boxes by breaking up the really long lines into several lines.

  • Fixed some issues in the cooking prep and multi ingredient selection UI when opening and loading recipes that looked glitchy along with some scrolling issues when you have a lot of ingredients.
