Dorfromantik changes
Hello everyone,
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been busy working through your feedback following the release of the Medieval Biome Pack and the Anniversary Update.
As a small indie team, releasing our very first DLC for Dorfromantik was a big step, and it has been wonderful to see that so many of you are still actively playing, sharing your thoughts, and helping shape the game together with us.
Medieval Biome Pack
One piece of feedback came through especially clearly: many of you felt that the horse-drawn coaches moving along rails did not feel quite immersive enough, and that paths would be a better fit for the medieval atmosphere.
We heard you. And we changed it.
With today’s patch, the rails are a thing of the past. The coaches now travel along paths instead, making the Medieval Biomes feel more natural.

Night Mode
And while we’re on the topic of immersion, we’ve also made a few more improvements to Night Mode.
Let It Snow ... in Snowveil
Some of you spotted a bug in snowy night landscapes. Thank you for letting us know! You can now once again enjoy cozy, snow-covered medieval towns after nightfall.
The Nightingale, Not the Lark
Besides the visual changes, we’ve also been iterating on the soundscape and music to make the experience feel even more immersive. We adjusted the ambience in Night Mode. The birds now sound more like they belong in an evening atmosphere, while the daytime birds have gone to sleep.

So, to all the coach drivers, snowmen, and ornithologists among you: feel free to jump back in and let us know whether it now feels the way you imagined.
Your Medieval Steam Review
Thank you again for all your feedback. Since the occasion calls for it, we’d also like to invite you to share your thoughts with us in the Steam Feedback Forum or on our Discord server. On Discord, we have a handy ticketing system that sends your feedback directly into our developer backend, helping us keep track of your suggestions more easily.
And if you’re enjoying the Medieval Biome Pack, we’d be very grateful if you left us a Steam review.
As an indie team, we rely on your recommendations to help Dorfromantik reach more puzzle lovers and medieval fans. Here at Toukana, we’re still a small team of nine people (and two dogs) and we truly appreciate everyone who helps spread the word.
Thank you for playing, sharing, and shaping Dorfromantik with us.
How to write a review for the Medieval Biome Pack:
Patch Notes
Dorfromantik Patch 1.2.1 Medieval Biome Pack
Added cobblestone roads for medieval coaches, replacing train tracks within medieval biomes.
Locomotives now transform into medieval coaches when entering a medieval biome, and transform back when leaving it.
Added custom sound effects for medieval coaches and boats.
Added a night-time variant for the Snowveil biome.
Improvements
Added a dedicated night ambience track featuring crickets, owls, and other nocturnal sounds.
The camera can now be rotated by holding Spacebar and moving the mouse.
Added a short delay before zoom gestures are interpreted as tile rotation while hovering over a tile. This makes accidental tile rotations less likely while panning across the map.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue that could cause the music to fall silent because of a faulty music track.
Fixed an issue where localized strings sometimes failed to initialize correctly.
