Welcome to 2026 everyone!! I know there wasn't a whole lot of news over the years about Do Not Buy This Game, but I think it's time for us to change that little by little.

So let's start with a new year promise.

Sometime this year, 2026, I - the developer of Do Not Buy This Game promise you to drop a release date trailer for the game.

Now, I know what you're thinking:

"There is an easy loophole here, he can easily make the release date announcement say it will come out in 2030 for all we know" You were always such a negative fellow. So let's make another promise.

I also promise that the release date that will be announced won't be any further than sometime during 2027. If possible, it might even be sometime during 2026 but we'll see about that.

I hope we're all good now, and that it's obvious that I sincerly mean it. No loopholes. No funny buisness. Just a promise between the two of us.

But I know there is still a skeptic in my audience. I'm looking at you Oliver.

I've let Oliver down one too many times in the past, and now he's just here for the ride. Oliver keeps the game in his wishlist because he beleives it's a symbol. A reminder of how disappointing life can be. That as long as he sees the game listed there as 'coming soon' there is no hope in this god-forsaken world.

So let's all make a wish again, for Oliver's sake.

Oliver, I'm sorry. But this year I'm going to bust my ass off, and show you that things can change. That even this game can have a release date.

So yeah. A release date trailer will come this year. And more updates soon-ish. Pinky-new-years-promise.
