We are rolling out a major update to Direct Contact that fundamentally changes how you manage your gear and navigate the battlefield. This patch focuses on streamlining your controls and introducing a more flexible, modern gadget system to prepare for future content expansions.

New Feature: Tactical Radial Menus We have introduced two new radial menus to bring the interface up to modern standards, making utility easier to access in high-pressure situations.

Gadget Radial Menu: All explosives and gadgets are now organized into a single, intuitive wheel.

Logistics (HOME) Menu: Pressing the HOME key now opens a dedicated menu for calling in transport back to base, requesting resupply drops, or managing the FOB system.

Room to Grow: These systems are designed to be expandable. We have plenty of space to add more tactical options in the future, and we want to hear your ideas!

Explosives & Gadget Overhaul We have completely rebuilt the utility system to offer maximum tactical freedom.

  • Universal Utility: Gadgets are no longer restricted by class. You can now pick any explosive you want for your loadout.

  • Default Loadout: You will start each mission with 3 default slots for grenades or smokes. For example, you can choose to carry one smoke and two fragmentation grenades as your standard issue.

  • The Quartermaster: Need a heavier kit? You can now purchase additional grenades, smoke, flashbangs, and explosives at the Quartermaster in HQ. Each item has a different price, so choose your gear based on your mission budget.

Refined Controls & Input We are optimizing our keybindings to ensure your movements are as fluid as possible.

  • Quick Selection: Holding ALT now opens a Quick Selection Radial Menu, allowing you to swap gear on the fly.

  • Direct Optics: You no longer need to press ALT+B to scout ahead. Simply press B to pull up your Binoculars or Rangefinder instantly.

  • The "G" Key: Use G to quickly throw or deploy your currently selected explosive from the radial menu.

Bug Fixes Optics: Fixed a bug where scope reflections were unintentionally disabled during night operations. Scopes will now correctly reflect light sources at night.
