Today's update brings a TON of bug fixes and some suggestions from players. Let's get to it:

Small Reworks

  • The main menu and buttons have a reworked blobby flair to them. Good bye clickable bubble-things! Now they fit the theme better.

  • New core system in to select multiple different dice bags (not in demo). This feature will be available in an upcoming playtest, however!

  • New visual indicating when HANDS can be scored.

  • CRIT keyword has been added, representing the multiple on TOP of the multiple as in: (POINTS x MULT) x CRIT.

  • New visual indicator in the shop before a boss round to show where the boss info goes.

  • The first target was reduced from 250 to 200 to better help with bad rolls at the start.

Big Reworks

  • Dice and pins now show a special icon when they are active. This icon shows whether you gain POINTS, MULT, or CRIT and stays active for the entire hand (or longer!). But most are the entire hand. If you see a die or pin that is supposed to show something but doesn't, let me know! This should help improve readablility of how and why you're scoring points each hand.

  • Bosses with an activated ability (Leech and Jester) now have an alert popping up saying what they did after each hand is scored.

Dice

  • Removed D20's old ability, replacing it with the following: (20) ON ROLL: +1.5 CRIT (1) ON ROLL: Reset CRIT bonus

Hands

  • Three of a Kind nerfed a bit (has values of previous Two Pair)

  • Two Pair buffed a bit (has values of previous Three of a Kind)

  • I decided to swap the POINTS and MULT for these hands because it was easier to make a Three of a Kind, and Two Pair felt weak. So now Three of a Kind can still be good, and Two Pair feels better to play. With that...

Pins

  • Steel Epee was buffed from giving +1.5 CRIT to 2 CRIT to give Three of a Kind some more power.

Bug Fixes

Oh boy, was there a lot! Glad to have more players finding these so I can SQUASH them!

  • "Jester" boss now does what is says it does.

  • "Leech" boss now only applies a debuff on the boss round, not all the rounds

  • "Super Steven" now unlocks when its achievement is met

  • "Crystalmancer's Robes" now correctly unlocks when three crystal dice are in play.

  • "Quantum Die" pin now correctly rolls two values instead of the same value both times, every time

  • (I think) fixed some issues with the game window launching oddly when borderless/fullscreen/windowed was chosen

  • Additional dice can now be purchased in the tutorial

  • Pins purchased in the shop now only count one time at the "end stats" screen

Playtest

As I've been working on the demo, I've also been getting things ready for the first real playtest! I've added two more dice bags to the game with some unique twists, and I'm adding some additional boss rewards (that may be a little on the cursed side)!

I'm planning to have this by the end of April, as long as I don't keep adding new things to it :) That's all for now, till next time!
