Welcome, players! Thank you for following and reading.
"Desperate Place" has finally made its first appearance to players! On February 10, 2025, we released a trial version for players to experience. This is also the first time our development team is publishing a dev log to communicate with our beloved players. We have already received a lot of congratulations, suggestions, and feedback!
Some players have pointed out similarities between our current content and Thronefall. However, our game offers much more than that. Desperate Place also draws inspiration from excellent strategy titles like Into the Breach and Kingdom Rush. We are striving to create a tower defense game that requires strategic decision-making, where players must use their intelligence to overcome challenges. The trial version we released was not specifically crafted—it was directly extracted from our main development build, consisting of a few lower-difficulty levels. The full version’s content, story, and mechanics are nearing completion, and we are currently in the polishing and optimization phase.
To emphasize strategic depth, we have reduced the protagonist’s direct control mechanics and simplified turret direction choices. Instead, we provide players with more ways to respond tactically to changes on the battlefield. In later maps, players will encounter more events and choices—your decisions will determine the difficulty of your challenges and the rewards you reap.
Here are some of the key tasks we are currently working on:
Tutorials for acquiring and using tactics Level design and testing Differentiation between multiple playthroughs Neutral units participating in battles and triggering events Additional difficulty challenges and mode options Enhancements to music and sound effects Support for more languages
In the future, we will continue to refine Desperate Place, bringing players a richer gaming experience while valuing everyone’s feedback and suggestions. Thank you for your support—stay tuned!
