Death Afterparty changes
For whom do I write all this you ask? I don't know, just for history. Someday someone will play my game and gonna be interested enough to read old news in community hub, right?
This month was lots of technical and behind-the-scene works. But something showable are there too!
All dialogues in game are configured. Many are improved tho.
Lots of intro flow changes to improve FTUE.
Notes system added - so the player can read some notes. There're just one by now and it is needed for the sake of tutorial and third character introduction.
Fully reworked NPC navigation. Now it's super flexible and NPCs randomize their daily schedule depending on what player have built in the town and how far they are in NPCs' storyline. NPCs can wake up early or regular and have personal wake time and bed time, they can flexibly choose what to do for the day and overall their behavior is pretty random - which should look very humanly in my opinion. They just decide what to do today at the morning, like all of us, right? Right?..
Small wishes system added - now player will see on their sleep screen by the end of the day if NPC is missing some building in town. Just to let player know what character needs to be built. It's not obligatory though.
NPC stories window is finished and there's first part of Ostins' story done for the demo.
Full character customization added!
Now player can customize their character when starting new game. This window will also be available in game, and a customization items will be added later too, like hats and new clothes. But in this window player can customize the basic visuals of the character.
There're not many options yet, but I'll add much more things to choose from later.
And lots of other improvements and usual.
Despite there's not much to show, it's actually a good thing - demo of the game is closer than ever and I'm just finishing things instead of adding new ones.
See you next month!
