Version 0.40.1 is now live!

Hi everyone! I've been sick for the last week so I haven't been able to make much progress with the game lately (such is the perils of being a one person game dev team) but I have still managed to put in some bug fixes

changedThe main bug I have tackled is related to military clip sizes. Previously if you called the military in and say they had clip sizes of 10, then called in another military with clip sizes of 20, the first group would get bugged and think they also have a clip size of 20. This part is fixed.
changedNow if anything picks up a weapon that had a larger clip size, they will use that larger clip size as their default. So if a civilian is unarmed, they will get the clip size of the weapon they pick up, but if a civilian is armed with a clip of say, 5, picking up a clip of 10 will set their clip to 10.
changedThis fix lays down the groundwork for the possibility of picking up different types of weapons in a future update, with their own weapon stats.
changedChanged "hiding in park" to "sheltering in park" as it felt a little strange that people would "hide" in an open field. It's more that they are looking for places that are safe to shelter in.
fixedFixed a bug where cops would say they were "securing building" when they are securing parks, it now says "securing park area".
fixedFixed one of the melee attack sound effects not being correctly tied to the SFX volume layer which meant it was being heard even when all other SFX were muted.

Hi everyone!

I've been sick for the last week so I haven't been able to make much progress with the game lately (such is the perils of being a one person game dev team) but I have still managed to put in some bug fixes and small changes in this update that I will talk about.

The main bug I have tackled is related to military clip sizes. Previously if you called the military in and say they had clip sizes of 10, then called in another military with clip sizes of 20, the first group would get bugged and think they also have a clip size of 20. This part is fixed.

At first I thought that was going to be the end of the matter but it ended up requiring a change in how picking up weapons changes things for unarmed civilians as there were several issues in this area too.

Now if anything picks up a weapon that had a larger clip size, they will use that larger clip size as their default. So if a civilian is unarmed, they will get the clip size of the weapon they pick up, but if a civilian is armed with a clip of say, 5, picking up a clip of 10 will set their clip to 10.

This fix lays down the groundwork for the possibility of picking up different types of weapons in a future update, with their own weapon stats.

Other fixes:

Changed "hiding in park" to "sheltering in park" as it felt a little strange that people would "hide" in an open field. It's more that they are looking for places that are safe to shelter in.

Fixed a bug where cops would say they were "securing building" when they are securing parks, it now says "securing park area".

Fixed one of the melee attack sound effects not being correctly tied to the SFX volume layer which meant it was being heard even when all other SFX were muted.

Thanks for playing as always and I'll see you in the next update!
