Dead Reckoning — v0.2.111 — Steam Deck Compatibility

Brings Dead Reckoning's interface, input, and saves up to Steam Deck standards. Most of this is Deck-specific and not visible on desktop.

Steam Deck

  • Fullscreen by default on Deck. Fixes the mouse-input misalignment. The cursor now lines up with the UI everywhere, not only at the top of the screen.

  • Larger, legible text. The UI scales up on the Deck so body text and labels clear Valve's readability floor at 1280×800.

  • Controller prompts. The Deck shows gamepad glyphs ([Start] / [LB] / [Y]) instead of keyboard and mouse hints.

  • On-screen keyboard. Naming your vessel and editing the crew cryo bay now summon the Deck's on-screen keyboard.

  • Cross-platform cloud saves. Saves sync through Steam Cloud across Windows, Linux, and Steam Deck (one namespace, no more Windows/Linux split).

  • Expand the star chart. A new EXPAND MAP button opens a larger, clearer view (available on every platform).

Navigation

  • Two distinct Jovian beats. The Jupiter pass (~Y5) and the calibration-probe data return (~Y6) now read as two separate moments instead of one stacked beat.

Under the hood

  • The Fullscreen setting now persists across launches. It was silently resetting; fixed for every platform.

Dead Reckoning — v0.2.112

An edit pass across the ending epilogues and a set of event-timing fixes.

Endings — edit pass

  • The epilogue reads in order. The end-of-voyage write-up nod now reads in order, and closes on the hundred-year projection — instead of flashing back to the launch after the ending

  • The ending no longer contradicts or repeats itself. A colony is no longer described as both a thriving town and a struggling remnant in the same write-up; and a lone-survivor ending no longer restates "one person" five times over.

Events

  • Milestone announcements fire once."The last Earth-born" could each be declared two or three times across a long voyage; each now lands a single time.

  • Event-timing fixes. A reactor-cascade emergency no longer fires unnecessarily, and a "Year 50" anniversary that could surface as late as year 137 now keeps to its window.

Localization

  • Some issues still persist; cards are missing. This is a top priority and another hotfix is coming; my DeepL usage was running over limit without informing me, so certain fixes weren't reported. Thanks for your patience.
