Read the patch notes below for the full changelog.

COMBAT CHANGES: GENERAL

  • Rebalanced health pools across the board using a new formula which assigns point values to each creature based on mass + certain attributes. All creatures now have increased health as a result.

  • Increased base armor values to 100% of health. These values can be increased via genetics and mutations.

  • Armor is now slower to regenerate and always takes damage before health with some exceptions:

  • Armor Piercing applies 50% damage to armor and 50% damage to health, until armor is depleted, then 100% goes to health.

  • Acid Damage applies 150% damage to armor and 50% damage to health.

  • Venom Damage applies 100% damage to health and is unable to damage armor.

  • Slightly increased healing rate while sleeping.

  • Plasma & Heal damage are both now capable of crits joining Armor Piercing, Piercing, and Blunt. Heal crits will work with the new Lick Wounds coming soon as well as the Singe Crest.

COMBAT CHANGES: DAMAGE MITIGATIONS

  • Depleted armor no longer removes all damage mitigations. Mitigations are now innate to each dragon.

  • Rebalanced all creature damage mitigations using a new class-based point system. Each class level is awarded class level x 50 points of damage mitigation spread out across their 8 resistances.

  • When armor is at 100%, the max damage a player can take is capped at 90% of their max health. Meaning nothing can be one-shot when at full armor. A second attack will be needed to end the target which gives everyone, no matter how small, a chance to survive and escape so long as you have full armor!

COMBAT CHANGES: STATUS EFFECTS

  • Bleeding status now lowers Piercing and Armor Piercing damage resistances by 15%

  • Poisoned status now increases Heal damage resistance by 15% (making heals do less healing)

  • Wet status now lowers Lightning and Frost damage resistance by 15% for non lightning/frost dragons, and increases Fire resistance by 15%

  • Burning status now lowers Fire damage resistance by 15% for non-fire dragons.

  • Acid Decay status now lowers Acid and Impact damage resistances by 15% for non-acid dragons.

  • Wet status no longer prevents Acid Decay which can now be applied to creatures in water.

  • Wet no longer washes off Acid Decay instantly but instead reduces Acid Decay duration by 80% (90% if Survivor) and each tick of Wet will remove one stack of Decay (two stacks if Survivor).

DRAGON CHANGES

  • Shadow Scale Plasma Charge Shot Bile Exhaustion times have been tweaked from 30s for all shots to 30s for Charge 1, 32s for Charge 2, 34s for Charge 3, 36s for Charge 4, 38s for Charge 5, and 40s for Charge 6. These seconds represent how long before Bile begins to regenerate after firing a charged shot.

  • Inferno Ravager's Inferno Shield ability no longer applies initial contact fire damage, but instead now applies burn status on contact. (Note: This change only applies to initial contact, not sustained contact.)

  • Added water bite animations for Acid Spitter (while swimming).

  • Added underwater eating animations for Acid Spitter

  • Aquatic and Subaquatic Dragons (Acid Spitter) now uses less stamina when swimming.

  • Aquatic and Subaquatic Dragons (Acid Spitter) stamina no longer drains if stationary while swimming.

  • Aquatic and Subaquatic Dragons (Acid Spitter) now regenerate a small amount of stamina if stationary while swimming.

FLIGHT IMPROVEMENTS

  • Players can now temporarily increase their flight speed by flying down (ie “Dive bombing”) which is A LOT OF FUN!!!!

  • Dive bomb speeds are now dependent on species flight stats, with Shadow Scale and Blitz Striker (and Singe Crest) currently having the fastest diving speeds.

  • Flight banking rate is now increased the slower you fly, allowing for tighter turns at lower speeds.

  • Flight can no longer be toggled on without stamina.

  • Added a stamina cost to manually toggling off flight multiple times in a row. The first toggle is free, and each additional toggle costs 10% stamina x the total used (Example: 1st toggle = 10% stam, 2nd toggle = 20% stam, 3rd toggle = 30% stam, etc). Landing resets this counter.

QOL CHANGES

  • Elder Growth Pearl % now shows as a buff in the Growth Bar UI.

  • Elder Growth pearls that are bound to a player can now be discarded from their inventory (Note: Discarded bound pearls cannot be picked up again)

  • Pearls and Shards can now be linked in Clan chat (Ctrl+Click), Group chat (Left Shift+Click), and All chat (Alt+Click) by Modifier+Left Clicking on them in inventory.

  • The audio that plays when entering and exiting water is now based on velocity and size instead of always being a loud splash.

  • Added a Big Map hotkey to toggle open/close the big map with one button (default “B” for Keyboard)

  • Increased step height for all dragons making it easier to step onto rocks and out of water.

  • Thirst no longer increases while swimming, meaning you no longer dehydrate when in water.

OTHER CHANGES

  • Removed the persistent elder snapper spawns from swamp (Note: Normal snappers still have a 5% chance to spawn as the elder variants).

  • Added new persistent elder snapper spawns to other parts of the map.

  • Players can no longer hear the audio of their last location in the character menu after respawning preventing players from "scouting" in the spawn menu.

  • Players can no longer drop pearls while carrying objects.

  • Players can no longer regurgitate meat while carrying objects.

  • Added an AFK timer to eggs so players cannot sit in eggs forever. After 15 minutes of being afk, the game will kick you.

  • Pearls dropped through the ground should now jump back to the surface.

  • Updated Dragons AntiCheat.

FIXES

  • Fixed an exploit where Shadow Scale could instantly cloak if timing an attack immediately after cloaking.

  • Fixed an issue where Brood Watchers’ could charge while swimming for speedy swim zoomies.

  • Player eggs can no longer block snapper spawns.

  • Fixed an issue preventing unlocked Melanistic pearls from showing in inventories of players who did not own any DLC pearls.

  • Fixed an issue where emotes could not play with "Sprint Toggle" enabled (when standing still).

  • Fixed an issue where snappers could not be smelled after death and could still be smelled when in water.

  • Fixed an UI issue where Growth buffs would not show for 2 seconds after opening character panel

  • Fixed a full bile drain bug for Inferno Ravager, Flame Stalker, and Blitz Striker if their bile attacks were interrupted when starting.

  • Fixed Inferno Ravager, Flame Stalker, and Blitz Strikers’ bite animation glitch after breath attack.

  • Fixed Inferno Ravager’s “Inferno Shield” ability instant exploit via a bite cancel bug.

  • Fixed an issue where being bit could prevent Inferno Shield from activating.

  • Fixed Inferno Shield causing massive damage when flying.

  • Fixed several pearl dupe exploits.

  • Added config options to allow servers to perform maintenance with the first maintenance feature removing all pearl duplicates from saves.

  • Added a failsafe to protect saved dragons from being deleted as a result of a rare bug caused by lag. On the spawn menu, this bug would cause the “Continue” button to read as “Spawn” and if clicked, would delete a saved character. Servers will now run a second validation check to ensure the player loads in as an existing dragon first before spawning a new character.

NEW SERVER MAINTENANCE MODE

Before running server maintenance, we strongly recommend backing up your server files!

  • Added a new Server Maintenance Mode feature. When enabled, the server will boot into maintenance mode and run the maintenance configs enabled for that session.

  • Server maintenance can be configured in the Game.ini by setting [c]bEnableMNTC=True[/c]

  • Added a new Inventory Check / Pearl Duplicate removal maintenance option. When this option is enabled, the server will scan all player inventories for duplicated items. All duplicated items will be deleted, but the original item will remain. Saves will not be deleted, only the duped items. This has been tested to be safe but we still advise backing up all files before enabling it.

  • Inventory checking / dupe removal can be configured in the Game.ini by setting [c]bMNTC_RemoveDupes=true[/c]

  • Multiple maintenance options can be enabled at once, however, we only have one option currently.

Official Servers will be undergoing Pearl Duplicate Removal Maintenance before this patch goes live to Official servers. Community Servers may use Maintenance mode if they desire to remove Pearl duplicates but it is not required.
