STAT PEARLS!

Are you ready to go Snapper hunting? Stat Pearls have arrived, adding over 140+ new Dragon Pearls to the game which grant unique bonuses when equipped!

Steam post image

The stat bonuses offered by these dragon pearls offer players a boost in their Dragon's prowess, be it improvements in their nesting abilities, combat abilities, or even eldering growth!

Pearls can be looted from most of the current AI in our game. Swamp Snappers have a 10% chance at dropping Lesser Dragon Pearls, and Elder Swamp Snappers have a 50% chance at dropping Lesser OR Greater Dragon Pearls! As the name suggests, Lesser Dragon Pearls aren't quite as strong as Greater Dragon Pearls. Pearls also come in varying levels of rarity, as indicated by their colors in the Pearls UI!

In addition, a brand new AI class, "Elder Spined Scrabs" have been added to the game! These Scrabs are larger and lighter in color than their common counterparts, They have a small chance of spawning in the same locations as all other Scarabs, and have a 5% chance of dropping Lesser Dragon Pearls, some of which are unique to their loot table! They also provide more food and deal more damage so be careful!

Interested in a tougher challenge to expand your Pearl collection? Pearls can also drop from other players, so if you manage to kill a rival Dragon in a fight, you'll be able to swoop in and claim their loot as your own! All Pearls that are not bound to the player will drop on death. Dropped pearls despawn after 2 minutes. It's also worth noting that Hatchlings can only pickup and equip cosmetic and skin pearls, Juveniles can additionally pickup and equip Lesser Dragon Pearls but cannot drop them.

Some additional info to know about Dragons Pearls:

  • Dragon Pearls come in 4 types, Lesser (1-5% bonus) Greater (5-10% bonus), Ancient (10-15% bonus single stat or 5-10% / 1-5% bonus double stat), and Mythical (REDACTED bonuses).

  • Lesser Pearls have a carry weight value of 1, Greater of 2, and Ancient of 3. Cosmetic Pearls have a carry weight of 0. Mythical pearls have 0 cw.

  • Dragon Pearl tier quality is as follows in order of their rarity by RNG and drop rate: Common < Uncommon < Rare < Exotic < Legendary < Unique < Mythical

  • Each Dragon has a carry weight value assigned by its class and age. Hatchlings cw is always 0, juveniles have a > 0 cw, adults have even more cw, with Elders having the most.

  • Brood Watchers have bonus carry weight so are the resident choice for pearl hoarding

  • Stat Buff and Skin Pearls cannot be equipped in PvP unless the player is able to safelog, this requires sleeping for 60 seconds until the "Caution" indicator has been removed from your ESC menu. This is to prevent in-combat pearl changes of skins and buffs. This does not apply to Admins or to Unequipping or Dropping the Pearls.

  • Legendary quality pearls are always the absolute maximum stat value and the rarest of the RNG. So a Legendary Greater Pearl of Elder Growth will always be +10.0%, whereas an Exotic Greater Pearl of Elder Growth might be +9.9% or less.

NEW DRAGON PEARL CATEGORIES

  • Added 3 types of nesting pearls, Egg Crafting (for Nesting and Brooding upstatting, more A++ anyone?), Skin Crafting (for increasing chance of skin rarity inheritance and chance of mutations), & Nesting (increases male nest protection distance and reduces time to lay eggs for females to make more eggs faster) (and yes male+female pearls stack)

  • Added 1 type of Elder Growth enhancing pearl (increases growth per tick)

  • Added 6 types of element power damage pearls (more damage)

  • Added new Critical Chance, Critical Damage, Critical Evade, and Critical Defense pearls

  • Added 6 types of Status Resistance pearls (reduces time to recover from status effects)

  • Added 8 types of Damage Mitigation Pearls (reduces incoming damage)

  • Added many new Ancient Combo Pearls (Ironhide Grazer drops coming in 1.2.31)

  • + More

CHANGES:

  • Added a regurgitate animation for manually dropping Pearls.

  • Pearls being picked up gravitate to the mouth of the dragon claiming them. (we skipped an animation here for the sake of loot ninja fairness since anims would have different timings for pickup)

  • Pearl mitigation bonuses can be seen in Dragon Scales UI showing total mitigation percentages. We plan to add a complete stat bonus tracker to the UI later.

  • Acid Species (Acid Spitters) now recover from poison effects faster.

  • Aquatic and Semi-aquatic dragons (Acid Spitters) can now pickup pearls under water.

  • Aquatic and Semi-aquatic dragons (Acid Spitters) can now eat underwater.

  • Acid Spitters can now swim 50% faster underwater.

  • Lesser, Greater, Ancient pearls have different icons but use same tier color scheme. So a Grey Greater pearl will always be better than a Gold Lesser pearl. The color represents the difficulty and scarcity of the pearl type, not the total % of the combined buffs.

FIXES:

  • Slightly reduced the max brightness of the Legendary CallMePancake Skin. It was too bright.

  • Fixed an issue where the Melanistic Pearl obtained via unlock would not show up in a players inventory if they did not own a cosmetic DLC. It now shows up after unlocking it and spawning the Dragon.

  • Fixed an issue where the Inferno Ravager's "Inferno" ability could be activated but invisible if canceling the activate animation at just the right time.

  • Dragon Pearls no longer roll forever once dropped, and will now stop moving shortly after hitting the ground. No more runaway pearls!

DRAGONS ANTI-CHEAT:

  • Players are no longer able to run the unprotected client binary using workarounds.
