  • We haven’t implemented automated and incremental single-player saves yet.

Summary

Bit of a short patch cycle as we were at GDC. However, we did manage to sneak in a new

dungeon and several new runewords and crafting recipes as well as doing a bit of fine tuning

and bug fixes.

Dungeons

  • Added a new “secret” shark level (well, its existence is no longer a secret, but how to get

    there is…)

Singleplayer

  • Added character and world selection UI to singleplayer mode

    • You can now play more than one character and/or world in singleplayer

      • You can now bring a single-player character into a new (or existing) world

      • The last world for a given character is shown in blue

    • The latest singleplayer character should be converted and appear in the

      character selection list

    • 🛑 WARNING: Singleplayer worlds from before the patch do not carry over!

Multiplayer

  • Private worlds can now be manually deleted if they have no active players

  • Improved reconnection protocol in the event of dropped connections

  • Fixed issues with progressing the Necropolis quest in multiplayer games

  • Synchronization errors now write game state diagnostic data to the Logs folder to help

    bug reporting

Items

  • Increased prevalence of sockets / unique sockets

  • Pick axe regular attack is now differentiated from dig – regular attack only destroys

    terrain in front of the character

  • New runewords

    • Blood of Lambs – 3 socket dagger: elm | bat | ash

    • Tender are Their Eyes – 4 socket dagger: bat | elm | ash | ka

    • One Hard Knock to the Head – 5 socket staff: deb | ash | bat | bat | ash

    • Skyfather, Heed My Call – 6 socket staff: ash | elm | deb |ash | ka | ash

    • One Thousand Stars – 3 socket belt: deb | elm | ka

    • Mandate of Heaven – 4 socket helm: deb | bat | ka | ash

  • Note that the old runewords are:

    • Unforgivable Act of Violence – 2 socket weapon: ash | ka

  • New puzzle box recipes

    • Add socket: item w/ no sockets + elm rune

    • Reroll magic amulet: item + 2 dull gems

    • Reroll magic ring or flask: item + 2 flawed gems

  • Note that the old recipes are:

    • Reroll dye: 2 dyes

    • 3 cracked gems of the same type → 1 flawed gem of that type

    • 3 flawed gems of the same type → 1 dull gem of that type

    • Downgrade rune → rune + 2 cracked gems

    • Upgrade rune → rune + 2 flawed gems

    • Destructive unsocket → socketed item + cracked gem

    • Preservative unsocket → socketed item + ash rune

  • Allow multiple gem & rune upgrade/downgrade recipes with a single Puzzle Box

  • Char Root / Sizzle Bough now drop flame hearts (instead of nature hearts)

  • Assigned abilities to Goke and Endless Boss hearts

  • Vendors can now restock every 4 hours (instead of 1/day)

  • Fixed a bug where items on the ground could get randomly destroyed

UI / Controls

  • World name is now prepopulated with a random generated name

  • Call to Action UI can now be closed using the controller's back button

  • Improve camera auto-movement to better detect when the player is blocked

  • Controller:

    • Improved item pickup logic

    • Improved weapon set switching

    • Added support for Puzzle Box

Other

  • Renamed Normal difficulty → Veteran

  • Fixed issue where the simulation position of a unit could be under the terrain while

moving

  • Added a system such that units can now be buried and unburied

    • The waystones in Necropolis are now buried when taken over by shadow and

can be dug back up to reactivate them

  • Endless bosses (with the exception of skeleton mages) now have their own quality,

which is the equivalent of unique (instead of champion)

  • Renamed some of the endless bosses, tweaked size and speed of gulpjaw boss
