Greetings! We will be performing a maintenance, today, February 22, 2026 1:00 PM (PT). We thank you for taking the time to provide us with such valuable feedback! Our team has been working heads down to fix some issues, and add new content!

🛑Warning!
We haven’t implemented automated and incremental single-player saves yet.
Your offline single-player world state won’t carry over after the patch. If you have a game in progress, you may want to finish it before patching.
Public games creations have been disabled.
You can still create private worlds and have your friends joining you!
Highlights
Added Endless Lair (see Dungeons below)
Added Hardcore mode (see Gameplay below)
You can now use dungeon entrances as waypoints from within the dungeon or from the
overworld once you’ve been inside (see Dungeons below)
Improved hero’s ability to traverse rough terrain (see Movement below)
Made significant changes to earlier difficulty tiers (see Gameplay below)
Stability
Fixed several crash bugs
Gameplay
Added Hardcore character option
Hardcore characters are segregated from non-hardcore characters in multiplayer
Renamed difficulty levels, set default difficulty to “Journeyman”
Heroes now start with a flask on “Peasy” and “Journeyman” difficulties
Decreased enemy damage in “Peasy” and “Journeyman” difficulties
Necropolis growth is slowed for “Peasy”, “Journeyman”, and “Normal” difficulties
Reduced the cooldown and increased the healing rate for all flasks
Known issue: these benefits do not apply to flasks acquired prior to the patch
Hero’s mana is restored on respawn
Skills
Fixed an issue where skills for level 8 characters were being reset to level 1
Increased skill cap from 7 to 9
Decreased the amount of terrain damage done by Spine Breaker
Blood Lash > Red Embrace now has a 50% chance to entangle (instead of 100%)
Graphics
Adjusted bloom and fog settings in many overworld areas and dungeons
Crypts can now randomly be foggy or not
Improved various textures, optimized geometry for various objects
Added target FPS option
Movement / Controls / Camera
Allow jumping while entangled when in water or air
Improved the ability for the character to navigate rough terrain
Increased maximum camera pitch (for auto-tilt)
Changed the algorithm for focusing with gamepad controls
Unified controller camera controls for gameplay / map / build modes
Allow navigation to empty equipment slots with controller
Added zoom function while building
Added option to disable camera shake
Added camera rotation speed option
UI
Ctrl-click to move items from equipment slots to inventory should now work
Fixed scroll speed for character and world select UIs
Legendary rings should now be the proper size when held by cursor
Equipment slots when a dye or socketable item is held on the cursor over an item for
which it can apply are no longer colored red
Allow click on respawn button when there’s an item on the cursor when killed
Added fixed rotation option for map (lock the map to north)
Added difficulty selection on single player character creation / removed difficulty slider
from the home menu
Removed spurious WASD settings from controls UI
Fixed various options not saving on start
Added "thank you for playing demo panel" on exit
Dungeons
Added first-pass “endless” dungeon after Narlathak
After killing Narlathak, the “Endless Lair” spawns in a random sector
This is a multi-level dungeon that goes down to level 100
Note: this is only partially implemented:
There is currently no mechanism for resetting it, so if you want to try again, you’ll need to create a new world.
It does not currently boot you out of the dungeon on death as intended
Teleport back to the entrance of a dungeon (from within a dungeon) by clicking on it in the full map
Teleport back to the entrance of any dungeon you’ve entered (from the overworld) by clicking on it in the full map
Bogie dungeon no longer closes unless champion Tyrant is slain
Added a signpost explaining shift-click to attack in place / destroy walls in crypts
Mobs / AI
Mobs now have reduced aggro and follow ranges vs. players > 3 levels higher
Removed strata damage from Disgraced Paladin
Online / Server
Temporarily removed public game functionality
Restored the ability to name worlds
Add the last world player visited to the world list (even if private)
Added an intermittent character save in online games
Misc
Runes and Runeword items no longer despawn on regular depopulate
Fixed various typos
Game now properly reports what monster killed you when you’re killed by a projectile or status effect
Known issue: environmental deaths are not correctly attributed
