First of all: thank you so much for your patience.

I know this update has taken longer than usual, but that’s because we’ve been working on two very big systems for the game.

And honestly, one of them is probably the most requested feature we’ve had so far.

Saving is finally here

You can now:

Save your runs and come back to them later

This has been requested a lot, and we’re really happy to finally get it into the game.

But this wasn’t just about making a save button.

Behind the scenes, we’ve also been building the infrastructure for something much more important:

Carrying progression from:

  • Playtest → Demo

  • Demo → Full Game

It's important for us to respect the your time, ezpecially those of you who have been playtesting.

So that functionality was a big priority.

We need your help testing it

This is a big system, and even though we’ve tested it a lot ourselves, this is exactly why we do public playtests with you guys:

To find the weird bugs we didn’t think about.

So please:

  • Save in weird places

  • Quit unexpectedly

  • Reload often

  • Try to break it 😄

We want to know:

  • Does your run restore correctly?

  • Does the game state come back properly?

  • Are there edge cases where things break?

Important disclaimer

I want to be transparent here:

I cannot guarantee there won’t still be bugs with saves.

There may still be:

  • Broken save files

  • Runs that become unrecoverable

  • Situations where you have to start over

That’s the reality of testing a system like this.

That said: Your meta progression should be much safer overall.

The Weapon Collection is here

The second huge addition is:

The Weapon Collection

You can now:

  • Collect weapons

  • Unlock weapon progression

  • See collection progress

And this is the beginning of the game’s long-term meta progression system.

But… it’s not fully functional yet

This is the first time we’ve added something that is partially implemented.

So we want to clarify this clearly:

You can currently:

✅ Collect weapons ✅ Unlock weapon milestones ✅ Add weapons to loadouts visually

But:

❌ Weapon effects are not implemented yet ❌ Loadouts do not actually work yet ❌ Weapons won’t carry into runs yet

The UI is there because this functionality is being built for the demo right now, and we simply didn’t have time to create a separate “disabled” version for the playtest.

That functionality is coming with the demo.

The long-term plan

Once implemented, weapon collection will become a major progression system.

The idea is:

  • You collect rare weapons

  • Unlock their effects

  • Add them to your loadout

  • Bring them into runs

And those weapons will essentially function like special upgrades.

If everything works correctly, your progression from the playtest should also carry into the demo.

So weapons you unlock now should still be yours later.

That’s the goal.

New upgrades

We also squeezed in a few new upgrades because we felt this update needed at least some new gameplay content 😄

Pro Gambler Magazine

Gain 1 diamond on jackpots and Three of a Kind.

Capital Influence

Each debt cycle boosts a random faction, increasing payouts for their contracts.

Smugglers Magazine

25% chance to get one weapon back after completing a contract.

This one gets pretty interesting with expensive weapons 👀

Bug fixes

We also fixed some important bugs:

  • Fixed freeze when paying 0 dollars during debt payment

  • Fixed issue where entering debt payment with 0 dollars could count as paying debt

  • Various smaller fixes

Still not fixed (yet)

There are still some known issues we haven’t had time to address yet.

Most notably: The negative numbers bug still exists.

There are also some smaller quality-of-life issues still hanging around.

But right now we are extremely focused on getting everything ready for the demo:

  • Localization

  • Balancing

  • Content

  • Polish

  • Bug fixing

  • UI work

  • Meta progression systems

There’s just a lot happening at once.
