Dark Light: Survivor changes
Hi everyone,
While we continue working on larger system updates, including Endless Run, patches may take a little longer than usual. Rather than holding these fixes back, we decided to release this update first.
This patch includes a major rebuild of the camera system, a large UI art update, improvements to the weapon comparison system, and several community-requested quality-of-life changes.
Major Camera System Rebuild
We have rebuilt a large part of the camera system to make third-person gameplay feel smoother and more stable.
The new system is not perfect yet, and we will continue refining it based on testing and player feedback. However, it should already feel significantly more stable than the previous camera system.
Changes include:
Added improved camera positioning when aiming upwards.
Reworked camera behaviour when entering and leaving walls or other obstacles behind the player.
Improved camera movement transitions in third-person mode.
Reduced camera shaking and jitter across different movement and combat situations.
Added a special camera angle for certain areas underneath bridges.
Fixed an issue where the character’s body could face the wrong direction after jumping into the ocean from the town.
Major UI Artwork Update
We have replaced several 3D rendered UI elements with traditional hand drawn illustrations to better match the style of the character portraits and the rest of the game.
Our illustrator spent more than four weeks creating these new artworks. We would also love to share some of her hand drawn development process with you.
We hope you enjoy the new designs!
Weapon Comparison Improvements
The weapon comparison system now displays both:
DPS
Damage
This should make it easier to understand and compare weapon performance.
Quality of Life Improvements
Thank you to everyone who shared suggestions in our community discussion:

This patch includes several requested improvements:
Added an on screen warning and sound effect when ammunition is running low.
Active skills now also play a notification sound when they are ready to use again.
Fixed an issue where dragging an inventory item and switching menus could cause the item icon to remain visible across other interfaces.
Fixed an issue where weapons could appear inside the camera view while speaking with NPCs in town.
Improved floating point number conversion to prevent the game from becoming stuck under certain language and regional settings.
Added a visual effect when a skill cooldown is complete.
Please continue sharing your QOL suggestions in the community. We will keep making improvements as development moves forward.
What We Are Working on Next...
We are currently working on the Wardrobe System, which will allow players to unlock and equip different armour appearances.
Development is progressing well, and we plan to release it soon as part of a larger update.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
If you are enjoying the game, please consider leaving us a review. It helps our small team a lot.
You can also leave feedback or report issues in the community. We are very active there and will do our best to respond and resolve problems.
Best,
Mirari
