Repeated intro
Hello Everyone,

It’s the end of April and we are exited to give you updates about the work being done on Dagger Directive. First, we would like to mention our surprise to the players reactions to our April Fool’s joke. We didn’t expect so many people would want to have the opportunity to hunt a monster like Sasquatch. We defiantly took note and are exploring what we can do with this interest.
The focus this month has been on wrapping up the custom map system and getting it ready for beta testing. We are happy to announce that the Custom Map Beta will be starting on Monday May 4th and will run until Monday May 11th. All the details like access, maps/missions available for testing, and what feedback we will be asking will be available on our Discord.
Free Play Mode Status
We also have an update on the second feature we revealed last month. Unfortunately, the recently announced feature Free Play Mode is going to be moving to update 1.0. We have received lots of feedback from players on what the mode could be and we want to make sure we meet the your expectations.
Additional Accessibility
In addition to spending more time on the design development of Free Play Mode, we have also decided to start working on adding controller support for the game. We want to make Dagger Directive available to more players who may prefer to play with controllers or play on portable devices that support Steam games.
Custom Maps Beta - Starts Monday, May 4th
Next week we will be starting our Custom Map Beta. We are looking to have custom map makers submit maps and really test out the process of submitting environments. The Beta will start on Monday 5/4 @ 10am PT and go until Monday 5/11 @ 10am PT. This will help us work with custom map makers to ensure the guides and the process for uploading new maps and missions is effortless and players are able to easily jump in and play the new content that is created.
The Beta is not just for map makers. It is also open to people who want to try out the custom maps and provide feedback on the process as a player. So if you are interested, feel free to join us during those dates. Instructions for how to access the Beta can be found on our Discord.
We are looking forward to working with everyone during the Custom Map Beta. It will help ensure that the feature works effectively at launch. After the Beta we will be continuing to wrap up the features for Update 0.9.0, which should be releasing before the next Dev Blog.
