We are excited to announce our first Content Update for Early Access, which will bring new content, QoL improvements and monetization changes in response to key feedback that we’ve received (so far!).
The patch will launch on Thursday, 4th June, 2026 at 12pm UTC (noon) on Steam.
The update introduces new content such as uniques, skills and mobs, while deepening progression systems across the board with additional upgrade mechanics, as well as a modifiable endgame with anomalies and lootable cargo. Check the full feature list below.

So far in Early Access Crystalfall has an average playtime of 5+ hours with some players amassing 100+ hours of playtime in the first week of Early Access alone. Our team received 2100+ reviews on Steam and Discord which we’ve dug into to identify key feedback points for us to address. Besides early server issues, the feedback centred around lack of content, lack of QoL, and monetization.
We know that our launch did not live up to expectations, which we are really sorry for. Throughout Early Access we’ve attempted to address connection issues and concerns that have arisen since launch, especially for Russian players who were unable to access due to the current geopolitical situation. We have rolled out four hotfixes so far and continue to investigate how to improve Crystalfall.
QoL Features
Our intention has been to add Quality of Life features over time, though our first priority for Early Access is to add progression systems that heavily depend on player feedback for balancing. For patch 1, we will add the below QoL features, though they are still in their early stages:
Loot Filter
Buy 1 Stash Tab for Shards (limited to 1 purchase)
Experimental early-stage WASD movement-only controls option
The WASD controls option is limited to movement-only and is in its early experimental stages.
Monetization Changes
In response to feedback on our monetization model, we will make several pricing adjustments for our content patch.
New Patch 1 Cosmetics added to Founder Packs
Existing Founders will also receive these new cosmetics
Inventory Tab: permanent price reduction from 150 to 75 in-game Credits (7.5 USD).
Previous buyers will be compensated with 75 in-game Credits
50 in-game Credit topup option
Platinum Founder Pack is closed for sale
Existing Platinum Founders keep all their items

Platinum Founders will receive the same cosmetic items as Gold Founders.
Offline Singleplayer Mode (optional)
For patch 1, we are adding a barebones offline version of Crystalfall. This will act as a safeguard for those who experience server issues, especially on the first days of the launch.
The offline version will include content coming to patch 1, excluding all online elements. The shop, in-game trading, leaderboards and any gained or purchased entitlements will be unavailable. Your online characters will not be available or transferable to the offline version. You will not be able to unlock additional stash tabs or inventory tabs and you won’t have access to any previously purchased items.
To play the offline version on June 4th, select it when you launch the game on Steam.
Note: If you tick the “Always use this option” for the offline version and you later want to play the online version, follow these steps:
Right click the game in your Library
Select “Properties”
In “General” Properties, change the Selected Launch Option.
CRG Studio Discontinues Plans for a Separate Blockchain Version of Crystalfall
TLDR: we have decided to abandon our plans for a separate version of the game where blockchain would be used for item trading. This means that CRG Studio will not launch a blockchain version of Crystalfall.
The blockchain version was planned to be on a separate launcher with a separate economy, with the technology acting as a more secure solution to secondary market item trading. The idea behind this began with current concerns regarding item trading such as scams and fraud, and explorations around how secondary market item trading could be done more safely and securely without having to trust players you don’t know.
However, due to the confusion around how these separate versions of Crystalfall would function, as well as misunderstandings or concerns around the use of blockchain technology in general, we have made the decision to discontinue our plans for a separate version of the game using blockchain.
The concern around blockchain technology was one of the pain points we identified in player feedback during the Early Access launch and we are taking this feedback to heart as a sign of our commitment to our community.
The decision to discontinue blockchain has no effect on the current standing and operations of our studio and our game Crystalfall. The content update for the Early Access on Steam will come as planned on June 4, 2026.
Dev Q&A Stream on Launch Day!
We are planning to hold a Q&A Dev Stream just before Patch 1 launches on Steam. Tune into the stream on Steam or Twitch on June 4th to chat with our game designers as they count down the seconds to launch.
*(We’re aware that the PoE2 patch will just have launched, but with Swedish Midsummer holidays coming up on 20th June (it’s not like the movie, we swear), most of the CRG team will be going on vacation, and launching before PoE2 would simply not have been possible as we are still squashing bugs.)
