Crown & Coin: The Hundred Years changes
Thank you so much for your passionate feedback and bug reports from all over the world! Thanks to you all digging deep into the muddy quagmire of the Hundred Years' War, the game is evolving at a terrifying speed.
Today, we've released the [Latest Demo Update], which adds convenient new shortcut features and fixes a massive amount of game-breaking bugs that were plaguing players!
Here are the highlights of this update:
⚔️ New Feature 1: "Combat All" Command (Shift + A)"I can crush the enemy with overwhelming numbers, but it's a pain to click 'Combat' for every single unit!" We heard the cries of our mercenary captains. By pressing Shift+A during the orders phase of a battle, you can now instantly command all unassigned friendly units to engage in "Combat". Grind your enemies to dust to your heart's content.
🔇 New Feature 2: "Global Mute" (Shift + M) For when you're secretly playing at work, or pulling off some late-night banditry and suddenly need to cut the audio! You can now instantly mute/unmute the BGM and SE by pressing Shift+M from any screen—whether in town, on the world map, in battle, or during minigames.
🖥️ New Feature 3: Dynamic UI Scaling for Smaller Windows We fundamentally addressed the issue where "playing in a smaller window caused the UI to overflow and soft-lock the game." The entire UI now beautifully and automatically scales to fit your window size. Enjoy the Middle Ages comfortably in any environment.
👑 New Feature 4: Introduction of the "Title" System We have implemented a foundation for "Titles" that reflect your character's life choices, which are now beautifully displayed on your status screen. Alongside this, we've expanded the career path for those who overthrow a bandit boss and choose the "Mercenary" route. Armed with your exclusive"Mercenary Captain"title, you can now sign employment contracts with nobles, earn merits, and officially rise to the rank of "Baron". This gritty path to success now fully functions in the demo. (Note: Your criminal past will forever remain branded on your status screen as the title"Indelible Infamy"...)
🔧 Bug Fixes & Improvements (Warning: The following is a massive wall of text listing all the bug fixes. You really don't have to read all this! Just know the game runs much smoother now!)
Based on your reports, we have purified the following curses and supernatural historical phenomena that were plaguing medieval Europe:
FIXES FOR PROGRESSION BLOCKERS & FATAL BUGS
Fixed a UI freeze where pressing any of the 4 buttons did nothing when receiving an "Alliance Reinforcement Request" from an NPC.
Fixed a bug where NPC wars (reinforcement requests) interrupting at the exact wrong moment during the tutorial would soft-lock the game.
Fixed a bug where the town UI would freeze and soft-lock immediately after finishing your apprenticeship (training) with Du Guesclin.
Fixed a soft-lock caused by hastily clicking the destination during the world map tutorial before being instructed to do so.
Fixed a bug where loading a save made during the tutorial's save prompt would incorrectly skip you to a "tutorial completed" state.
Fixed a bug where the town screen would go pitch black and halt the game immediately after the Baron land grant event.
FIXES FOR SPACETIME ANOMALIES & HISTORICAL POLTERGEISTS
- Fixed "The Captive King's Whim"Fixed a space-time anomaly where King John II of France, despite currently being a prisoner of England, would generously gift you an English (and hidden!) territory.
- Fixed "The Stranger's Usurpation"Fixed a creepy phenomenon where, after joyfully arriving at the territory the King just granted you, a complete stranger was sitting there as Castellan holding council meetings.
- Fixed "Bandit Overthrow Dialogue Reversal"Fixed a bug where challenging a bandit boss caused the speaker and lines to swap (the protagonist would beg for their life, and the boss would gloat... even though the protagonist won).
- Fixed "Alchemy Reversal"Fixed a bug where hard-earned "Opium" and "Mummy Powder" crafted at the Barber-Surgeon would vanish into thin air upon saving and loading.
Fixed a flag bug where, after finishing the tutorial and choosing a different status (like Commoner), you would randomly revert back to a "Knight" after a few turns.
Fixed a bug where you could change jobs to Pirate or Bandit while still retaining the "Knight" title on the status screen (causing internal data conflicts).
Fixed a bug where visiting your old bandit hideout after becoming a mercenary would incorrectly prompt the "Let me join you" dialogue again.
Fixed a historical revisionism bug where losing the historical "Siege of Rennes" event still left Rennes as French territory upon returning to the world map.
Fixed an infinite loop where Du Guesclin would tell you to "Rest for today" every single time you re-entered La Roche-Derrien after finishing the tutorial.
Fixed a bug where the Baron promotion event would re-trigger infinitely every time you entered a town.
Fixed a bug where becoming a Baron wouldn't update your home castle on the status screen, or your Castellan would be displayed as a "Nameless Armored Knight".
Fixed a bug where becoming a Baron would erase your subordinate relationship with Du Guesclin, or cause the entire hierarchy section to vanish from the status screen.
[UI, Graphics, and Other Tweaks]
Fixed overlapping and unreadable "Troops Decreased" and "Morale Decreased" text during successful guerrilla attacks in battle (adjusted vertical positioning).
Improved readability in Bataille (personal combat) where damage numbers received from enemies overlapped with the "Enemy Turn" text.
Fixed a bug where the game's custom mouse cursor (the glove) would disappear during the early tutorial.
Fixed an issue where "Wasteland/Hills" areas like the Cotswolds were inexplicably drawn as developed cities on the map.
Fixed a bug where saving inside a town caused the save data's location name to display as "—".
Fixed a bug in the tutorial "Watch the Battle of Poitiers?" choice where you had to click "Don't watch" multiple times to skip it.
Fixed a bug while playing in Hindi where the date in the tutorial narration was displayed in Japanese.
Fixed an issue where skipping across certain months (silent jump) would skip monthly processing, preventing councils and the demo ending from triggering.
Fixed a fundamental structural issue where hidden territories (like Bamburgh Castle) were being selected as targets for various events.
