🚀 Development Update – Major Milestones Achieved!

A lot has landed recently, and each piece pushes the project closer to a fully playable, fully scalable experience. Here’s a deeper look at what’s new.

🔧 Back‑End Migration – 100% Complete - Finally

This was one of the biggest technical pains in the ass undertakings so far. The entire infrastructure has now been moved to the new backend environment, giving us:

  • Faster load times and smoother server performance

  • A more modular architecture for future features

  • Better stability for multiplayer and progression systems

  • Cleaner data handling for inventories, rewards, and player states

This upgrade sets the foundation for everything that comes next.

🃏 Card Upgrade Structure Implemented

The new upgrade framework for cards is now fully in place. This system defines:

  • How cards evolve over time

  • What resources or conditions are required to upgrade

  • How rarity tiers interact with progression

  • The long‑term power curve for each archetype

  • Some new framees for the cards

It’s a major step toward meaningful deck‑building and long‑term player investment.

⚖️ Card Balancing Improvements

A fresh balance pass has been completed across the current card pool. This includes:

  • Adjusted stats to reduce outliers

  • Smoother early‑game vs late‑game pacing

  • Better synergy clarity between card families

  • Internal tools to make future balance patches faster and more consistent

The goal is to keep gameplay competitive, fair, and strategically deep.

🎚️ Levelling & Awards Systems Online

Progression is now officially part of the experience. Players can:

  • Earn XP through gameplay

  • Level up to unlock rewards

  • Track their long‑term growth

  • Receive milestone bonuses and possibility of cosmetic awards

This system ties directly into the game’s sense of achievement.

📰 Alastrian News Vendors Hit the Streets

The world of Alastria is becoming more alive. News vendors are now delivering updates, rumours, and world events across the realm, helping players feel connected to the evolving narrative. This system:

  • Adds dynamic world‑building flavour

  • Provides in‑universe delivery of announcements and events

  • Helps the world feel lived‑in and reactive

  • Opens the door for future narrative hooks and timed happenings

It’s a small feature with big immersion impact.

🎲 The Alastrian Lottery System

A new world‑flavoured feature has arrived. The Alastrian Lottery introduces:

  • A periodic chance‑based reward system

  • Unique prizes tied to the game’s lore

  • A fun, unpredictable moment for players to look forward to

  • A new economic loop that complements existing progression

It adds personality, excitement, and a touch of chaos to the world.

🎨 Aesthetic Improvements Across the Board

Steam post image

A wide range of visual and presentation upgrades have been rolled out to make the world of Alastria feel more polished, readable, and alive. These changes include:

  • Updated UI elements for cleaner navigation

  • Improved colour palettes and visual hierarchy

  • Refined card frames, icons, and rarity indicators

  • Enhanced animations and transitions for smoother feedback

  • Better readability across menus, tooltips, and in‑game text

These aesthetic updates don’t just make the game prettier — they make it easier to understand, faster to navigate, and more immersive overall.
