News Update

Hello survivors! Sorry for the long silence. I've been hard at work adding core features to the game and developing all the needed systems to make a great and engaging single player extraction shooter experience. While there is still a lot of work ahead, I wanted to update everyone about the upcoming Private Beta Test that will be held in the upcoming months! Interested in playing early and providing feedback and bug reports? Stay tuned for upcoming announcements to secure a beta key and help shape the game.

What's the current state of the game?

In preparation for the upcoming beta test and demo, I've basically wrapped up all needed core functionality and the game is in a playable state (prepare in base, go into raid, extract with goodies, upgrade your base, etc.)

  • There is one complete playable level (some more polish and iteration will be done in the future). A total of 4 or 5 are planned / in the works. The demo may contain a second level, this is still TBD

  • +20 weapons (more to be added)

  • +50 gun attachments to fine tune your guns (sights, magazines, foregrips, flashlights, and muzzles / suppressors)

  • +200 items to loot, buy, sell, and craft. All items have rarities and are balanced with economy in mind

  • +15 lootable objects (PC's, duffle bags, toolboxes, industrial crates, medical containers, etc.)

  • Player EXP / leveling up

  • Hunger / Thirst / Stamina management

  • Medical items to heal, remove bleeds, and apply buffs

  • 5 upgradable base modules to build and upgrade (many more planned for the full game)

  • Throwable grenades

  • Zombie and Human AI

  • +10 beginning missions to get your feet wet (with many more missions to come)

  • 2 traders to buy loot from and complete quests for (more traders in the works of course). A 3rd trader may be introduced for the demo, but this is TBD

Many more basic, game related features like full saving / deleting game file functionality, audio / video settings, re-bindable keys, etc.

What's in the works before the private beta will begin?

Currently I'm doing a lot of playtesting and general bug fixing, but some of the core to-do's are:

  • Create tutorial level to explain core controls / systems

  • Expanding enemy AI to include more behaviors

  • Fleshing out trader inventories

  • Adding more barter / crafting options

  • Flesh out base module system / upgrades

A lot of the systems in place are functional and work, but there's still plenty of content to add to each system. For example, the crafting system is all set up but you can currently only craft a small number of items, which makes crafting feel boring and unfulfilling. I'll need to add many more craftable items to make this system more appealing to use and interact with. Same goes for base modules, barters from traders, and other random things.

Thank you for your patience as development continues. Stay tuned for private beta sign ups!
