Closed Technical Demo – Starting This Week
Hello everyone,
After a long wait, we’re finally ready to say this:
The Closed Technical Demo will be launching this week.

Purpose of the demo
This is not a marketing demo, but a technical one focused on the core experience. We want to understand how the game feels in practice - how the mechanics work together, how the atmosphere builds, and whether the overall pacing is satisfying.
At this stage, we are not testing content quantity, but the quality of the foundation.
Duration
The Closed Demo will be available for up to 14 days. During this time, we will closely monitor feedback and apply improvements where possible.
Thank you
Over 350 of you signed up for the demo, which means a lot to us.
We know not everyone will participate, but even a smaller group of active testers is enough to provide meaningful insight.
Codes will be sent out in the coming days alongside the official demo announcement.
Current status
The build is ready and already uploaded. We are currently waiting only for the final QA pass and publisher approval. Once that is complete, the demo will go live.
Steam page update
We are currently updating our Steam page. New materials showing the current state of gameplay will be available soon.
We want to make sure that everything you see reflects the real experience - we don’t want anyone to feel misled or disappointed.
Recent progress
The last three months were focused on iteration and quality. Instead of expanding the game with new features, we improved how the existing systems work together.
Citizens are no longer abstract values, but actual units that perform tasks and react to the state of the city. The system is evolving toward a more dynamic, priority-based approach, making gameplay more responsive and natural.
At the same time, we redesigned a significant part of the game, making the overall experience more cohesive both mechanically and visually.
Atmosphere and direction
We placed strong emphasis on how the game feels from the first moments. Weather, sound, and music now play a much bigger role in building the overall tone.
Gameplay direction
The core gameplay loop remains the same, but now offers a stronger sense of progression, clearer feedback, and more meaningful decisions.
The game sits between Anno / Caesar (clarity), Frostpunk (tone and events), and Victoria 3 (system depth), combined with our own ideas.
Final vision
City of Atlantis is becoming a city builder focused on atmosphere, system depth, and player-driven progression.
Why this demo matters
This demo is a key step in development. Your feedback will directly influence the final shape of the game.
What’s next
The next post will confirm that the demo is live and codes have been sent.
