Update 0.4.33: New Route, New Opportunities, and Important Fixes!

We’ve released a major update that changes the way you move around the Zone, adds new mechanics, and significantly rebalances the economy and loot. The most notable change is the opening of the tunnel route connecting the city and the bandit base. But to use this route, you’ll need to earn the trust of both factions!

What’s New?

  • New Tunnel Route. You can now quickly travel from the city to the bandit base. To fully use the route, you’ll need 1000+ reputation with both the Military and the Bandits.

  • Modular Spacer. A new item for swapping equipment modules. Available from the equipment vendor in the city.

  • Volga in the Zone. A new vehicle has appeared in the game world — the legendary Volga.

  • Improved Vehicle Controls. Vertical camera control has been added for vehicles — now you can look around in third‑person view to spot obstacles in front of the hood in time. We’ve also reduced the camera’s auto‑return strength, making controls more comfortable.

  • New Minimap on the Main Screen. Now you have full navigation at your fingertips:

    • Adjust the size and zoom level (using the mouse wheel or on‑screen buttons).

    • Toggle player tracking on/off.

    • Place your own markers.

    • Works with vehicles as well.

  • The Wanderer — a Roaming Trader. This rare guest appears in 5 different locations across the Zone. In his truck, you’ll find unique and rare items, and you can also trade goods to increase your reputation with the Wanderers faction.

  • UI Improvements. Hovering over an equipment module slot now shows the item’s name. The weapon modification screen now includes controls for adjusting the weapon’s position and zooming in for a closer look.

  • New Shelter at the Outcasts’ Base. All workbenches and crafting tools are now gathered in one convenient place under a shelter.

Changes and Balance

We’ve revised the economy, loot, and some game mechanics to make progression feel more meaningful:

  • Economy. Prices for blueprints and clothing modification modules have been increased 10‑fold; prices for equipment have been doubled.

  • Loot and Dungeons. Loot drop rates have been increased: Hard — 150 %, Challenge — 200 %, Legend — 350 %. The chance to get artifacts (Ezh, Heart, and Thorn series) has been doubled.

  • Weapons. The AKM‑74 has been renamed to AK‑47 and AK‑47 M2 (Event). Firing effects have been removed for AS Val and VSS Vintorez, and the ability to attach suppressors to them has been removed.

  • Skills. All skill buttons are now unlocked: you can click them to view the description and required experience, even if you don’t have enough yet.

  • Vehicles. Vehicle‑to‑vehicle physics have been added (cars now interact with each other).

  • Miscellaneous. The reticle color has been changed (from red to white), door and barrier opening time has been reduced (from 5 to 1 second), and the quicksave mechanic has been adjusted (once per minute).

Bug Fixes

We’ve put a lot of effort into fixing bugs and improving stability:

  • Fixed an issue in the “Postman” quest.

  • You can no longer exit a vehicle into a wall or over a fence.

  • Vehicle physics no longer disable immediately when the player exits.

  • Removed unrealistic loot (head, tail, hide) from mutated wolves; tails now drop correctly from regular black wolves.

  • Adjusted the volume of the wolf’s growl based on the distance from the player.

  • Fixed collisions (including the rack at the bandits’ warehouse) and minor visual issues.

Events Ended

Some temporary activities have come to an end:

  • The x3 reputation multiplier has been disabled.

  • The “Developer” NPC has left the city bar.

  • The card collection event has ended.

Best regards, The Development Team
