Current News for Chaos
Chaos has been a passionate project of mine for quite some time now. With that being said, I want to see it become the game so many of you have expressed that it could be, and be successful in the long run. I will continue to make improvements based on player feedback, resource and technology access, and continue learning more about game development as a whole. I appreciate all of you who have taken the time to give Chaos a chance and play it through to the end. Your feedback has been extremely helpful!
Current Development:
I am currently upgrading to a new rendering pipeline to take advantage of more advanced and optimized rendering technology. This will also open new doors for other tools and techniques not previously available, and allow for easier expansion in the future. It will take a bit of time because I'll have to recreate many custom shaders that are not compatible with the new pipeline.
The upgrade above will allow for me to fill in the world with more environment details because of the increased optimization.
Level/World design changes. Once the pipeline upgrades are complete, I'll be able to reassess the world design and will hopefully be making drastic changes to make the game more interesting.
Audio improvements are in the works as well for the next update. More balance should help improve the immersion of the game and alleviate some frustrations that players have expressed. I am not an audio engineer, so this has been a struggle from the beginning. Sometimes, what one person likes, others do not, so it can be a bit subjective but I will do my best to address all issues.
Future Development:
I have plans for a large expansion in the spring of 2021 that will include a new area to explore, more enemy varieties, bosses, weapons, spells, and will hopefully introduce new mechanics to the gameplay, such as key items needed for progression.
I have plans and have actually already attempted to build a multiplayer/invasion system. It is a new world for me and will take some time, but with enough support I may be able to get some help with integration of some 3rd party assets and development.
