Casino Resort Tower changes
This is the second of the three main Echoes of the Community updates before we kick off the nightlife era with all the dances, DJs, and bubble parties. This update comes with improvements, fixes, and a few additions.
It took a bit longer than the previous one because, aside from life stuff, I was also preparing the demo for this little “duo launch.” That meant putting together two extra builds, Macs here, Windowses there :D, and getting the Steam demo page ready.

Jackpot Pool
As many of you know, the jackpot pool grows in a different font and goes to the lucky winner. This also gives you a small rating boost if the pool is large at the moment it hits.
I have added a new feature that allows you to borrow money from the jackpot pool. However, if the jackpot hits before you return the loan, the amount plus a penalty will be taken directly from your bank.
Garage Vehicle Maintenance
While fixing issues with garage vehicle maintenance, I changed the old round-based system to a daily-based system. This makes the whole process much clearer.
Vehicle condition is now simplified into four stages: Brand New, Like New, Used, Old
Maintenance intervals still depend on the type and current age of the vehicle. Every vehicle now moves down one condition level after every tenth maintenance.
Payments Window Improvements and Contractors
There was a bug that caused contractors to charge more than they should. While fixing that, I moved contractor payments from the automatic end of day charge to the regular business payments system. This is the same system used for employee salaries.
While I was debugging, Nil asked “What about agent payments?” and she was right. I had forgotten about those. Adding every agent separately might crowd the payments list, so I am deciding whether to group them under salaries or give them their own combined entry. Feel free to tell me which option you prefer.
Since payments were starting to pile up in the end of day report and bank window, I added the following:
Type filters
A Pay All button and a Pay All Due button
Executives also received updates:
The HR Manager now handles contractor payments
The Finance Manager now handles social security payments
Tutorial
Monty now gives small hints the first time you open certain menus if you start the game with the tutorial enabled. These hints are short single-line introductions that help guide new players.
Some of these hints will expand into more detailed instructions as you keep interacting with the systems. The encyclopedia will also return. I am also planning feature highlight videos and a proper wiki for Steam and Reddit.
The tutorial is an ongoing project and it will continue to grow. ːcrt_Officialː

- What’s Coming
The final part of the EOTC updates will include the last balance pass, additional fixes, and the remaning graphs stuff.
After that, we will begin testing the Nightlife Update. Work on this update has already started in the background, so the testing phase should not take too long. I will keep updating the main branch with fixes while we test dancers, musicians, and all the new nightlife features! ːcrt_Blackjackː

- Warnings
Because garage vehicles now use a new data type, the condition and age of your vehicles will reset. This also applies to vehicles that are listed for sale. To avoid giving you worse vehicles because of this system change, every vehicle you already own will be set to either Brand New or Like New for this one time only.
If you started your resort with the tutorial enabled, you might see the new hints appear again as if the UI windows are being opened for the first time.
Your jackpot pools may reset to zero on the first load.

Some of you already know our little Vayto, who is technically our third team member. He was actually our fourth after Bacon, the pug you may remember from the main menu. We added him there in his memory. Vayto is older than him. He is a sixteen year old Yorkshire Terrier who moved to Thailand with us and who has been part of our lives for such a long time now. He recently had a strong reaction to a vaccine, so Thanksgiving was all about taking care of him and working on this update for us this year. We’re very grateful that he’s feeling well now.
