addedThanks for joining us in sharing a bit about where we are heading with Cardboard Cowboy and what the next few months look like! For anyone interested in playtesting, make sure to head over to our official Discord to stay informed. This marks the first devlog post from The Paper Scoop which we'll be posting often.
addedGet ready to run from the whistling sound of BOOM BARRELS , as our first hazard makes it's way into the gallery next update. These barrels add a bit of extra style to combat with the added risk of blowing your own face up! We're planning on expanding the concept to include different material and effect yielding types such as: Root Beer Kegs (sticky/drunk effect on nearby targets), Flash Jars (moonshine flash bang stuns), and Molotov Crates (yes fire make burn).
addedNew Weapon Designs:
addedFeast your eyes on this little beauty, the Gablerock Slotgun. With the next major demo push, players can expect to find a new batch of arsenal dropping to the gun shop! We've been working on improving the alternate fire ability, with plans to customize it more regularly for each weapon type. Individual characteristics that feel unique are a new priority of weapon alt fires, and this slot machine pistol will carry it's own random chance crit effect to reflect that. Bottom line, yes more pew pews are coming, we promise pardners. Gallery Levels Expansion:
changedWhile it's been nice to see you all having so much fun with just 2 combat galleries, we aren't going to leave you hanging there for long. In the upcoming playtests, we'll be opening up our unfinished combat galleries to include block-in levels which you will be able to try to complete the challenges in. Some cool levels include Boxcar Alley , a train derailment map, and Root Beer Co. , a root beer distillery facility with massive vats and pipeworks! Alongside these two additional keystone galleries will be some smaller more general combat experiences. Our target for next demo is closer to 6-7 combat galleries, so you better get your shootin' sorted before then pardners!
addedWith next major demo push, we'll be expanding the customizable loadout of our cardboard gunslinger. One big mechanic we are excited to showcase is the tarot card perk system! We don't have much details more to share, but we'll emphasize that players will be able to interact at a card table station to slot these perks, and an additional bar tab station will be available for selecting drink recipes to load into the map! We can't wait for you pardners to get your hands on the tarot perks and new tonics we are cooking up behind the scenes, so make sure to join the discord and sign up for our upcoming playtests! Thanks for 1,000 wishlists this month and a great first demo. The posse at Ded Dev Games will be hard at work on the next major demo event! -THANKS PARDNERS

WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON:

Barrel Hazards

Get ready to run from the whistling sound of BOOM BARRELS, as our first hazard makes it's way into the gallery next update.

New Weapon Designs:

AND Some Mysticism Also Coming...

With next major demo push, we'll be expanding the customizable loadout of our cardboard gunslinger. One big mechanic we are excited to showcase is the tarot card perk system! We don't have much details more to share, but we'll emphasize that players will be able to interact at a card table station to slot these perks, and an additional bar tab station will be available for selecting drink recipes to load into the map!
