Smiler Rework The smiler has a new face!(Rather a new body). It is better designed and its AI has been overhauled for unique interactions. It cant stand light so run for an area of the backrooms that's lit to evade it. if you feel like you cant outrun it to the light then bring out your flasher for a temporary stun. Also it doesn't like to make it self known so you wont see it unless it smells some pheromones in the air.
Backrooms Rebuilt The Backrooms seemed a little too big and gave a feeling of safety. not what I was going for so I redid the textures and messed with the lighting to give it a more secluded feel. I also added a bunch of effects to the camera to mimic that of a body cam and vhs camera all in one go. You can see the difference below.
Safe room and Stairs Running back and forth is no fun. to rectify this problem. safe rooms will now spawn throughout the backrooms. This room will provide you with a random item, A battery station, and a proof Submission cart. This way, you wont have to run back and forth unless you are close.
Battery Station A quick little wall mounted station that will replenish your battery. it only spawns in the safe rooms for now but I will add it to the things that can spawn against walls next patch.
Skinner The Skinner is now in the backrooms once again with a victim. I would not come to close to her while she's eating or when she's roaming the halls. The flasher does work on this monster as having one eye sunken in soo much made her quite sensitive to sudden bursts of light.
UI REDESIGN The UI Was all the same and did not vary in color. I opted to redesign it from top to bottom. below are some examples of the old UI and the new UI. (Not every UI has been updated. Ill slowly get them all.)
Halloween Festive Festive decorations has been added to the labs. HAPPY HALLOWEEN.

This has been the biggest patch yet. I've been working hard to layout the groundwork for future levels as well. The safe room and stairs were the first test on whether the generation can be broken for a certain area. If it wasn't then multiple areas would spawn on top each other crashing the game or causing lag. Im happy to say that it didn't. it works as intended. giving me room to make other levels such as the poolrooms and other big areas. With the system I put in place. I could spawn in entire mall complexes and not sacrifice fps or the generation.
Now for the broken promises. The warehouse is not ready nor will it be ready anytime soon. The smiler remake took much longer then I thought and took up the majority of the time. At first it wasn't going to be anything fancy but with the system now in place. I can make it into something much bigger. What im saying is that its going to take a while. In the meantime I will add more items, buildings, game mechanics and other things ill go into further detail later down this patch. I am thinking of adding the poolrooms next since the textures are the same and all I would have to do is worry about the lighting and layout but ill keep you posted on the discord.
For future, I want this game to reward exploring rather then punishing. The safe rooms was a step towards that by giving you a way to rest your feet and take a quick break but i want it to go further then that. The next item will be a radar that marks different areas such as safe rooms, stairs and other anomalies and guide you to it. but the next tier of items will be focused on camping in the backrooms and having the layout change around you. what do you think about things like this in terms of the game going in this direction.
