A refinement update for The Blood and the Hand.

2.2.0 made every generation a short, chaptered reign: the heir declares the course their own nature would take, and you either let that will stand or spend one of two Blood Marks to overrule a life. The system was right. The page it was printed on was not.

The chronicle entry had been assembled like a form with each part in its own bordered box under a small-caps heading, the two answers exiled to buttons at the bottom of the screen, and red spent on so many different jobs it meant nothing at all. You could read the page. You couldn't feel it.

So the entry has been rewritten as an entry.

The matter is prose again. The chapter opens with its own writing at full measure, in the primary hand. No labelled well, no tinted rail, no circled glyph in the corner.

The heir's will is testimony. A rule, the ruler named, the course they would take in the display hand, and their reason set beneath it as a spoken gloss.

The choice sits on the page, directly beneath the will it answers. Letting the will stand reads wide and gold.

Red belongs to the blood. Category rubrics, chapter counts, and record headings are ink now. Red is kept for the three things that are actually blood: the marks you hold, the mark you spend, and the verdict when the bloodline overrules its own ruler.

The leaf is sized to its writing, so no page trails off into empty vellum. And the margin's receipt speaks like a ledger rather than a spreadsheet: "SUCCESS — the gamble carried, 55 against 54."

Also fixed since 2.2.0: a transition race that could strand Generation Advance on an inert page when an Age Troth, victory, or other ceremony redirected during entry. If the receipt ever fails to build, there's now a player-facing way back out instead of a dead page.

Saves from 2.2.x carry forward.
