Bloodweight changes
The heir has a will. The bloodline has a longer memory.
Since Bloodweight 2.0, we have pulled the game apart, found the struggle at its heart, and rebuilt the entire player-facing journey around it.
You are not a ruler moving through a dashboard. You are the bloodline: the old will that survives every hand that carries it. Each heir is now their own person, shaped by temperament, private ambition, family pressure, and the years already written before them. They will choose. You decide when to let their will stand—and when the blood must intervene.
A REIGN, NOT A FORM
Every generation now has a dramatic order. A union is made. The heir lives through dated Chronicle chapters. The Witan assembles. Children are named. The succession is sealed. The game no longer throws every system at you at once; each part of the reign arrives when it matters and leaves a record behind.
Years now give the dynasty an actual history. Decisions, unions, decrees, births, deaths, and successions land at a specific moment in the line, giving both the player and the Soul Teller a chronology worth remembering.
THE HEIR'S WILL
The heir's intended course is visible before every major decision, along with the personality pressure behind it. Proud rulers behave proudly. Cruel rulers do not suddenly become gentle because a flat die roll said so. Each heir also carries a private Demand of the Blood—something they may pursue even when it cuts against the dynasty's larger dream.
You receive only two Blood Marks per life. Let the heir's will stand for free, or spend one to force another available course. A third intervention is impossible. The question is no longer merely "which option is best?" It is "is this the moment the blood takes the hand?"
At death, the record judges the whole reign: did this hand serve the blood, bend but hold, or cut against the line?
CHOICES NOW LAND
The decisions are still the center of Bloodweight, but they no longer disappear the instant you click them. Event categories carry distinct painted identities. Buttons answer with motion and sound. A committed choice locks, breathes, and passes through a visible reckoning before the consequence arrives as a full Chronicle receipt.
Witan verdicts receive their own ceremony. Regular heir decisions receive a smaller version of the same treatment. Results now distinguish the verdict, the heir's course, what followed, and what the bloodline actually gained or lost—so the human eye can read the important truth before the prose.
A WITAN WORTH CONVENING
The old repetitive council has been replaced by ten rotating writs drawn with strategic breadth. Current crises rise first. Era-native actions add flavor without swallowing the council. The same generation keeps the same docket, so backing out cannot reroll the room.
And the Witan now includes HEIR'S CHOICE: hand the decision to the ruler and they will choose the writ that genuinely fits their nature, priorities, and pressure—not a random button.
COURT, HOUSES, AND SUCCESSION
The Court is no longer an inert collection screen. Courtiers now feed the bloodline's pressures, surface in events, and carry continuity across the reign. Rival houses use a clearer, authored vocabulary and recognizable political roles instead of leftover multiverse jargon.
Marriage has politics again. Candidates come from actual allies, enemies, and rival houses, alongside one outsider carrying fresh blood. Each match states its blood fit, temperament, political price, and genetic risk.
Children are people rather than numbered slots. Every viable child is named before succession, and the permanent record remembers both the chosen heir and the siblings passed over.
THE BLOODLINE HAS A FACE
The opening has been rebuilt and quieted. You can enter the game quickly, or open a focused founder page to shape the first face, inherited appearance, general personality, and calling without sitting through a world-authoring questionnaire.
World Builder has been shelved from the normal player path while we decide what version of it deserves to return. Timeline has left the navigation. The custom cursor is gone. Redundant settings, procedural-music controls, toasts, floating stat slips, and old front-door clutter have been cut or consolidated.
The result is one Bloodweight, with one readable loop.
A NEW SOUND FOR THE DYNASTY
Bloodweight now ships with a new musical identity, supported by a rebalanced diegetic SFX palette of parchment, brass, wax, ink, impact, and room tone. Matchmaking, Witan votes, buttons, commitments, and results all speak with far more weight.
THE SOUL TELLER REMEMBERS MORE
The story payload has been rebuilt into a readable spine: named heirs, dates, private wants, intended choices, bloodline interventions, Witan decrees, political unions, children, passed-over siblings, successions, verdicts, and the consequences that actually shaped the line.
The chronicler is now given more specific lives to quote and connect. It knows who wanted what, what the blood forced them to do, what year it happened, and who inherited the bill.

THE BLOOD AND THE HAND
This is the largest change to Bloodweight since launch—not because it adds the most menus, but because it finally makes the existing parts serve the same game. The ruler wants. The blood remembers. The Court watches. The Witan binds. The heir dies. The consequence survives.
Thank you to everyone who kept the Chronicle open while we found the game inside it. Bloodweight 2.2 is live now. Now, back to work getting ready for 2.5 and beyond.
