🛠️ Patch Note v0.1.1a
A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to try out the Blockremental demo, dig tunnels, fight off waves of golems… and share their feedback! Your comments have been incredibly helpful in refining the gameplay, squashing bugs, and improving the overall experience.
This first patch is a solid one: we’ve added content, rebalanced systems, optimized performance, improved the interface… and even tweaked the lighting, because seeing clearly while digging matters.
One big swing of the pickaxe later, and here are the changes!
📦 Freshly Mined Additions
Wooden Construction Cube Now available from Layer 1. Smells like fresh forest!
Cube Exchange System Trade in your old blocks for shiny new ones!
Guide Improvements Info bubbles now appear right before your very eyes.
Tooltips Added Hover over a craft with your mouse to learn more.
New Blocks: Concrete and Steel For bases that look as tough as they are.
🔧 Performance and Polish
FSR / Sharpen / FrameGen If you know what this means, great. If not: more FPS for everyone!
GameThread Optimization We mopped up performance issues like pros.
Improved Accessibility Mouse axis inversion, visible cursor, color options: everything to ensure everyone plays in comfort.
Unlockable Layer Cap Raised to 16 Dig deeper than before (previously capped at 10).
Anti-Clipping System No more falling into the void like a cursed pixel. You’ll now be teleported to a safe zone automatically!
⚔️ Balancing (or at least an attempt...)
Defense Machines Damage values adjusted. Yes, again.
Breaker Machines Same deal. Still refining things with a chisel.
Progression & Recipes Major overhaul: core gameplay reviewed from the ground up. Your feedback is welcome!
🖥️ Interface & HUD
Redesigned HUD More visible slots, clearer selection, and an easier-to-read warning bar for incoming golem waves.
Improved 7x7 Platform Now includes colored indicators for better clarity at a glance.
Reward Interface Updated Clearer than ever: now you’ll know exactly what you’re gaining (or missing).
🧟 Golems & Waves
Improved AI Golem movement and speed have been slightly reduced for better pacing.
New Golem Waves The first wave now starts at Layer 4. The deeper you go, the tougher it gets: more health, speed, and damage.
Enhanced Conductivity All iron and copper blocks are now conductive. Ugly cables are out, stylish and functional builds are in.
🔦 Lighting & Weapons
Torches Lighting has been adjusted for better ambience.
MegaLamp Lights up the area like it's daytime.
WirelessLamp Increased range and brightness.
New Weapons:
IronAxe – Fast golem-slicing action, perfect for late-game.
Iron Mass – Smashes through EVERYTHING in its path. Yes, EVERYTHING. 💥
🎵 Sound & Atmosphere
Music, SFX, ambient sounds Now deeper, richer, and more immersive. We added a little oil to your ears.
