addedBegraved - Next Fest Demo Update 0.0.8With Steam Next Fest wrapping up last week, we’ve taken some extra time to bring additional quality‑of‑life improvements to the demo. Our goal is for this version to remain stable and enjoyable as we plan to keep the demo available until the full game’s release. We may apply occasional hotfixes or bug‑fix updates, but we will be holding off on adding major new content for now. This may change if we participate in future events or if there’s a specific mechanic we want more feedback on, With that in mind, here’s a breakdown of the key highlights in this update, (Full 0.0.8 Patch notes here) along with our plans going forward.
addedRe‑roll mechanicWe’ve also introduced a new shop re‑roll mechanic . If the shopkeeper’s stock isn’t offering what you need, you’re no longer stuck staring at a pile of basic torches. For a fee, you can refresh the inventory and take another go at better gear.
addedRe‑roll mechanicEach re‑roll increases the cost by 200 gold , but the price fully resets at the start of every new run. Letting you spend your BIG sack o'coins on higher‑quality tools when needed.
removedTax-man changesWe’ve adjusted the Taxman’s behavior to make him a bit sharper. He’s now less likely to overlook your shortfalls and no longer as easily fooled. However, to balance this out, we’ve also toned down his greed - he won’t take every coin you have when you meet the quota.
changedPlayer guidanceWe had some feedback that despite the tutorial working well, it was still unclear how to start an actual mission, you will now find good old yellow paint glowing handles on the wagon to help signify how to start missions as well as a gamble den medallion now left on the floor outside the gamble den entrance (greatest hive of scum and villainy apparently)
changedQoL Improvement and hot fixesMost of this update is built directly on your reports and feedback. A few small examples include fixes for incorrect valuable‑item values, calendar days not updating properly and missing VFX on bats. Torches have also received updated textures and improved SFX when they burn out. These are just a few highlights, there are many more tweaks and improvements, so do checkout full patch notes.

Begraved - Next Fest Demo Update 0.0.8

Greetings, Gravebound!

With Steam Next Fest wrapping up last week, we’ve taken some extra time to bring additional quality‑of‑life improvements to the demo.

Update 0.0.8 Highlights

Re‑roll mechanic

We’ve also introduced a new shop re‑roll mechanic. If the shopkeeper’s stock isn’t offering what you need, you’re no longer stuck staring at a pile of basic torches. For a fee, you can refresh the inventory and take another go at better gear.

Each re‑roll increases the cost by 200 gold, but the price fully resets at the start of every new run. Letting you spend your BIG sack o'coins on higher‑quality tools when needed.

Tax-man changes

We’ve adjusted the Taxman’s behavior to make him a bit sharper. He’s now less likely to overlook your shortfalls and no longer as easily fooled. However, to balance this out, we’ve also toned down his greed - he won’t take every coin you have when you meet the quota.

Player guidance

We had some feedback that despite the tutorial working well, it was still unclear how to start an actual mission, you will now find good old yellow paint glowing handles on the wagon to help signify how to start missions as well as a gamble den medallion now left on the floor outside the gamble den entrance (greatest hive of scum and villainy apparently)

QoL Improvement and hot fixes

Most of this update is built directly on your reports and feedback. A few small examples include fixes for incorrect valuable‑item values, calendar days not updating properly and missing VFX on bats. Torches have also received updated textures and improved SFX when they burn out. These are just a few highlights, there are many more tweaks and improvements, so do checkout full patch notes.

Ongoing Demo & Plans

We got so much feedback from the Steam Next Fest and demo, but we are still looking for as much as we can, so keeping the demo open was a no brainer, we plan to continue QoL and small additions, however there will be no new dungeons to explore or major new stuff, why? we need to knuckle down now and really focus on our internal plans for the actual game, the demo was really just a slice of what we felt we could deliver and while we are happy to leave it up for now, we have so much more to come for the full game experience, we have already started fully on the second dungeon and that is now being fleshed out but have much more to do, we had a big social push for Next Fest and demo, but now we are taking our foot of the pedal a little with socials, so here is what to expect (unless things change). - Fortnightly dev blogs (Progress previews & announcements) every other Tuesday. - Fortnightly dev streams on our Youtube & Twitch channels every other Thursday and regular shorts each week. - New teases of development in our Discord every Wednesday from our art team. We know some players are already eager for a release date, we cant deliver that right now but rest assured we will get it to you as soon as possible once we have more finalized.

Until next time, Laters Groobers,

Jade – CM
