The Weeping Woods
Greetings Gravebound, back again with a little mini blog previewing the Weeping Woods, one of two dungeons you will be exploring before unlocking more locations. As mentioned in our last Dev Vlog, the Weeping Woods exist in large part because of the feedback we got from demo players. More variety in starting dungeons was the call, so hopefully we have answered.
We had lots of ideas about how to add a new area, maybe spruce up the tutorial, make it a first‑run zone, however, with so many ideas from the team, it quickly became more fleshed out. So now it will have its own unique locations and unique dangers. Steam post image The Weeping Woods has a definite spooky forest vibe with graveyards and Witches huts rich in atmosphere. Steam post imageSteam post image - Shauni Shauni has been developing the witches’ hut and trees for the dungeon/area, with typical autumnal colours and very spoopy greens emanating from the hut. It’s going to be a really unique location with a more open‑world feel, but there will be fences and walls guiding players through, so you can’t get too lost. Steam post image “Within their madness, chained by their sadness, the witches wander the Weeping Woods!”
We have a lot to talk about with the origins and lore of the Weeping Woods, so look out for more in the future, but hopefully today’s little preview shows what we are aiming for. As always, any feedback or ideas, let us know. Laters Groobers.
