Hello fighters of Beatdown City!

Thank you to everyone who has been playing our demo! The feedback has been amazing. If you haven't, make sure to grab it today!

Yesterday we launched a new trailer showing off what's possible in the demo, including one of the midbosses and the stage boss.

Today we're releasing our first update for the Beatdown City Survivors demo that brings a lot of improvements, upgrades, and some bug fixes. We’re always down for recommendations (like auto attack auto-targeting), but please keep them respectful.

Also to note, because this is a demo, it doesn't appear that we can associate patch notes with it, so here they are!

Changes and Fixes

Missions

  • Added a “Mission ticker” so it’s clearer in game what your first goals should be.

  • Mission ticker counts up as you achieve your goal.

  • Vans are now represented by a van icon at all times, making it clearer.

  • Decreased amount of vans, to allow more survivor/cop spawns.

  • General Gameplay

  • Auto attack now does auto-target as well.

  • Sludge status effect (caused by soda) now nullifies shock.

  • UI

  • Added text to let players know how to unlock Heather and Abbey.

  • Added an arrow to point players to the PC, where you can upgrade your stats once unlocked.

  • Updated text when player unlocks ability to upgrade stats.

  • Player Stats

  • The “luck” stat has been implemented, so you can now upgrade luck.

  • Luck impacts finding items/money, amount/quality of upgrades on level up, as well as CRIT and DODGE chances.

  • Tiger’s Eye upgrade (luck) is available during gameplay.

  • Every playable character has had a boost to default Re-roll amounts.

  • 1st tier of Farooq’s cart re-roll can be unlocked.

  • Data

  • Added a “quit” function that saves the amount of money you have when you quit to the base.

  • Bug fixes

  • Softlock when dying and leveling up simultaneously.

  • Removed ability to buy upgrades when player has max amount.

  • Sometimes abilities would be purchasable at a cart (during a run) but would not add to your weapon's overall level.

That's it for today! We will have another update next week, featuring a new playable character, the Judo Fighter, Julie Chu!

Thanks for the feedback.
