Axom: Conquest changes
We're happy to announce that the new amazing demo is coming out this month, with a whole shedload of new features and cool stuff. Look out for it soon!
Don't Step on the Sand!
One of the new things in Axom: Conquest this month is this horrible fellow which the science team has dubbed the "Brood Worm" While looking horrifying it serves a dual purpose in that it is the source of the enemies you fight but also gives a thematic reason for being there. It also allows players to see and plan ahead of the Centurax's assault.
User Interface Overhaul and quality of life
A couple of requested quality of life features this month, firstly to address "I'd like to see the range of the towers before I place them" Well, Tada!
The other requested feature was "Ah I can't drag to place walls but that's ok" No it's not! And we made it happen!
You can now drag to place walls in any direction and it will automatically update in real time.
General UI
The general interface during play has been made slicker and more polished.
Upgrade List
Since you're bound to get dozens and dozens of upgrades during a run, there needs to be a place to remember everything you've gotten. Now there is a dedicated menu which shows all the upgrades you've gotten during a run and a tooltip to show what they do even if you forget!
Mutations
Mutations are a new feature on harder difficulties that give negative bonuses every so many waves depending on difficulty. They are designed to make to have to think on the fly and potentially rework your strategy. And If you don't like them they do not appear on normal difficulty.
New "New game screen"
Because of the new implementation of difficulties you now need a place to select this. There is now a new game screen where you can select difficulty but also your Nexus Type!
Nexus Type
Nexus types are unlockable content that change your run in a small but meaningful way. You start with the Green Nexus which gives a health bonus but there will be many more to unlock. How about one that Reverses all your currencies or one that randomises all building costs!
Other Changes
All Upgrades have been made stronger to make them more impactful, but enemies are now stronger too!
The first trader now only gives common upgrades so they are all affordable
Added a new gameplay option which is on by default. The camera will now automatically pan to destroyed structures to make it easier to defend
Certain buildings are now quicker to access during a run and will appear sooner
