Atomic Picnic changes
This one’s all about polish.
We’ve been going through your feedback and focusing on making the game easier to read, smoother to play, and more consistent overall. A lot of small things, but they add up during a run.
What’s New
Visual Improvements
We’ve made several updates to help combat feel clearer and less noisy:
Area Hold VFX improved
Pillars now dissolve into the environment when destroyed
Miniboss icon added to the objectives bar
Background art updates across Camp, Viridity Pass, Train Plateau, and Twilight Dam
Lighting tweaks to improve visibility in different situations
We also cleaned up UI consistency across the game:
Settings UI updated
Loadout UI adjusted
Improvements to Social, Join Picnic, Keyboard, and Controller tabs
Quality of Life
Survey pop-up now shows up less often, only once every 10 runs
Changes
Some audio now preloads before the run
Little Mac has been reworked:
No more persistent slow area
Now fires a projectile that creates a slow zone on impact
Fixes
Happy Marriage evolution VFX not showing
Weapon trails displaying incorrectly
Ready Up message getting inverted when canceled
Device screen text overlapping when items are locked
Critical Knuckles, Lighting in a Bottle, and Good Times unlocking repeatedly
Offerings debuff showing incorrect values
Octavio crystal ink attack using the wrong shader
Oswald music stand cannot be destroyed
Known Issues
Sound and music may still have issues
Little Mac’s new ranged slow attack is not fully balanced yet
Some enemies cores can drop in the abyss and be hard to get
Sometimes Rover progress bar may be inconsistent with how far it has progressed
Message from the team
We’re continuing to iterate on objectives and overall run flow.
A lot of your feedback has been pointing us in the same direction, and we’re taking that seriously. The goal is to make runs ramp up faster, feel clearer, and stay engaging all the way through.
More soon, and keep the feedback coming. See you in the Zone
