Astrosphere changes
Astrosphere – Update 0.37
This update adds a second layer of strategic depth to Astrosphere: data, workshops and trade respond more strongly to what you do in the sector. Shipbuilding, projectile weapons, economy and the station database are closely connected.
New
18 different stations – The game world now contains a total of 18 individually designed stations.
New UI window: ship purchase – A dedicated overview for buying spaceships, structured more clearly than the previous solution.
Tooltips for all interactable objects – Every clickable object in the game world now opens a tooltip window. You can immediately tell what it is and whether you have already scanned it. Scanned objects show their contained resources directly in the tooltip.
Smart lead calculation – Automatic projectile weapons calculate an intercept course for every shot from position, distance, projectile speed, and target and ship speed. Manual firing and beam lasers remain unchanged. Player, pirate and civilian weapons use:
relative target velocity = target − shooter
dynamic lead direction
world velocity = ship velocity + lead direction × projectile speed
Sector exits and anomalies only react to the player ship – Sector exits and in-sector anomalies now only react to the player ship if that specific anomaly was scanned first. Nothing happens when flying through unscanned anomalies.
Expanded ship sidebar – The right spaceship image now shows all system slots. Occupied slots use the concrete system icon with a unified colored frame matching the system-type color from the Shipyard. Hover shows a tooltip with details about the ship system.
Weapon range circles with Shift – Holding Shift in the sector shows a separate range circle for each active player weapon around the weapon's actual position. Controllers use the already assigned left shoulder button. Clicking a weapon marker in the ship sidebar deactivates or reactivates exactly that weapon. The state only applies to the current flight and is not saved.
Dynamic economy per sector – Each sector now receives a saved, dynamic economy index. During unpaused sector play time, the index changes every 30 seconds in small steps, tends back toward the previous sector base value and stays within ±20%. The Trading dialog shows a simple line chart with the current percentage above the item list. The chart history stays only in RAM for the current sector session: it remains when reopening the trade window, and is discarded after leaving the sector.
Station computer with scan database – Fully functional station computer as a UI window.
Second tooltip layer for resource locations – Cost tooltips receive a live-switchable information layer. Left/right Alt or LB shows the known locations from the station database for each required resource, grouped by danger level.
Station computer category “Blueprints” – The station computer receives a new “Blueprints” category. Files successfully downloaded from the sector are transferred only after a successful return, decrypted there once, and then offered in the shipyard as reusable system variants.
Spaceship computer syncs with station computer – The spaceship computer synchronizes with the station computer before every jump into a sector and contains all data on resources, objects and so on.
Blueprints in the sector – Blueprints can spawn in sectors at containers, debris fields and other locations. They contain encrypted spaceship systems that can be decrypted in the station computer and then installed multiple times in spaceships.
Improved
Existing stations have been reworked; the style is now more consistent.
Steamworks integration updated.
Automatic projectile shots now take the effective weaponInaccuracy into account. Lead calculation remains in place, but each shot gets a randomly offset target point.
The extraction UI now also shows all new data scanned in the sector.
Fixed
Fixed a display error where no price was shown for discovering new sectors.
Buttons were displayed even though they should not have been displayed – fixed.
- Loot and mining UIthe global closeUI handler was corrected so loot and mining only react when their own window is open. The current world-object selection remains intact when opening and closing other UIs.
Note – Astrosphere is in Steam Early Access. Saving before quitting and regular backups are recommended.
